Bitching? Oui. "Carter was a pussy, etc.". I've not heard what could have been done given the time and the circumstances. Could he have done things differently? Absolutely. I'm not trying to prop up the guy as a great president. Just pointing out that to lay the complete blame on the rise of Islamic fundamentalism on Carter is wrong. No revisionism needed there. And yes, when given the chance to confront them, Reagan did, in fact, arm them. Thanks Ronnie for saving the world.
As far as drilling and refineries, good stuff! Of course out of those 30 years you spoke of Republicans have had either complete control of the government (see the past 6 years) or at least the bully pulpit to get it done. Just more evidence of failed Republican policies and inability to get anything done? But if you want to look outside of politics concerning the refineries, look no further than the oil companies themselves who purposely didn't build them (as shown in memos) in order to keep prices up. |

I agree..but don't let the CNN lies influence..We(Isrzael) wiped the fuck out of Lebanon...yes, we could have done better, but in 30 days we flattened an entire country and set back hezzbollah...also, unlike any other nation, we had to figh under a time restraint imposed by anti-semites at the UN..Yes, we could have done more damage, but make no mistke, Israel will/can still crush any Arab army... |
