SirMuddy 1st: thank you Poison Ivy for sharing!

2nd: lossless source problem...

FREE the music....
I'm able by myself (and by ear) to know if I want to keep something in my pc or not... If I like it or if it's the only version avaible: I want it...

For maniacs, just put a note (Lowless Source or version) in the torrent title and let everybody share godd stuff...

and if you don't like it, don't dowload it...
but let people who want it have an access to it

WHO'S FIGHTING AND WHAT FOR???
Peace on you stone brothers...
rolling a big one for you now =)

PS: by the way someone have "Les Rolling Stones aux Abbatoirs" (VGP-241) ??? I neeeeeeeeeeed it so long.... Tonight's the night!! pleeeaaase!

Hey, nice day everybody and
Keep on rockin' in a FREE world!

Hi there, you 're right but... we're not talking about "pure" MP3, we're talking about MP3 converted to FLAC files.
FLAC files from a lossy source are still lossy and are like a "big MP3 with flac extension.

Absolutely MINDBLOWING !!!

I was about to share my new version of Buenos Aires, this time taken from a complete 2-DVD broadcast including Shattered and Start Me Up. I've just finished the audio edition process and it sounds awesome but I think I'll wait to download your version to see if it's worth to share it or not.

Gr.

About the audio quality of my new BSAS version, with the only bootleg I can compare is the DAC-050-11/12. This DAC sounds great, some speed problems.

Thank you for the explanation...Bit by Bit I'm learning!..lol
14th August 2006 02:46 PM
mac_daddy lossless compression: different algorithms to store ALL WAV data, just using smaller discspace - like a zip file. when you expand it (back to wav, for playback or to burn a cd) ALL the data is there. the reason we dont use zip is because it doesnt stream well (for playback). also, flac has a higher compession ratio for WAV data...

lossy compression: based on psychoacoustic models of hearing, which say - people cant hear this frequency, and that frequency, so by removing that data, the file size gets considerable smaller... once that data has been removed, it CANNOT ever be replaced. and that is why we do not trade lossy files...

esp. since, depending on your playback equipment and you hearing ability, you CAN hear an audible difference...

Thanks to Mr. D for the original discs and to Wattswood for the awesome artwork.
NOTE: This show has been circulated before as 1 DVD, and recently as 2 DVDs, but the quality on this one is the best I've seen. It's your standard late-'70s/early-'80s VHS tape quality, but the incredible performance makes up for whatever is lacking quality-wise. This is a reauthored version with menu and chapters. On DVD 2, the encore, "Satisfaction," regrettably cuts off about one-third through, but I left it in because a little Satisfaction is better than no Satisfaction at all, imho.
Enjoy.

shaleia GotToRollMe and others...

The Houston '81 show was my first Stones concert and I'd love to have it, but my computer lacks the capacity to download and burn DVDs. Would anyone be willing to trade or sell a copy of the two DVDs? Unfortunately, I only have CDs to trade. If interested, email me at [email protected].

Thanks

1. Thanks for your various seeds, Poison Ivy.

2. Has anyone determined that this seed is "not lossy"?

3. A supposed upgrade in sound of Freezer's Mobile 72 recording has been posted: http://www.thetradersden.org/forums/showthread.php?t=24952&page=1&pp=15
However there are reports of problems in the digital transfer.

I just tried to create my first torrent. It is from a cassette labeled "Rolling Stones Monitor Mixes May & June 89".
I converted the tape to wave files, and then converted them to flac for the torrent. Hopefully I have done it correctly. If not, please let me know.

Here are the tracks on the tape:
Sad, Sad, Sad
Hearts For Sale
Almost Hear You Sigh
Call Girl Blues
Continental Drift
Fancyman Blues
Blinded By Love
Hold On To Your Hat
Between A Rock (And A Hard Place)
- labeled as 'Steel Wheels'
Mixed Emotions
Slipping Away
Ready Yourself (No L/Voc)
Terrifying
Precious Love

The cassette was loaned to me by a friend who got a bunch of tapes from the widow of a member of the RS road crew, so they are authentic. I only received a few tapes to start, but hopefully there are more to come.

And thanks to wooden for the beautiful artwork, although...
