To be honest some of the jokes and replies were really funny but to laugh about a guy (even that he made a coward attack to the boards administrators and the regulars) is something we can't tolerate because of our policies; by the way is not fair to take too much wood from the fallen tree

You are right, Voodoo. This is one of the reasons I love RO.
July 14th, 2004 10:30 AM
Martha I agree.....RO members desperately NEED shirts!

I LOVE this idea. Voo the one you've put together looks awesome! I want one! Make sure they come in small (I'm a shrimp).....I don't want to wear a dress! LOL

I had asked quite a long time ago about RO doing a T-shirt using the "Ronnie Cake" art. Is that even a possibility Voo? Make that one into a tank top and I'll wear it to Bob and Willie's opening show August 6th!

Whatever you choose.....deal me in!

Sir Stonesalot Oh yeah, I forgot about the birthday cake drawing...that would look cool.

Can we use Keith's image on a T-shirt that is offered for sale, without his permission? I'm pretty sure we could get in trouble for that.

Can't someone get "his permission"...someone must be in charge of licensing agreements of sorts.??????
July 14th, 2004 11:43 AM
Phog I like both ideas so far. What exactly is the "We're Only In It For The Money" thing? The Zappa record with posters pictures?
July 14th, 2004 11:59 AM
Main Offender When I came to RO today I was going to start a "contest" thread......the best T-shirt design. BUT, Voodoo gets the nod, "WE'RE ONLY IN IT FOR THE MONEY" beats all!!

Yeah, I'm also wondering about the Keith image thing. But, since we're going to change his shirt to read the RO thing, it's "original", isn't it? We need some lawyers!!

One more thing....Voodoo's quote (although I'm sure not intentional) is a jab at the "other" site which was nearly begging for $$$$$$$$$$ and accusing some here of causing the $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$"problem!!
July 14th, 2004 12:38 PM
LadyJane Nah..MO.."We're only in it for the money" has been around long before the latest fiasco.

I personally LOVE Voodoo's idea. I'd like to see the shirt in black though, of course.

I'm pretty sure we have a couple of lawyers in these parts who could clarify the legality of using Keith's image. I would be more than happy to go on mission to find Keith and get his permission.

I hereby volunteer to do anything I can to help make this shirt a reality!!!!

LJ.

nankerphelge Technically you cannot use Keef's mug without his permission.

But he'd never sue -- as long as it was cool.

For a hundred t shirts? I doubt it. I doubt the licensing people could hardly be bothered with that. But then again these shirts would probably becomes collectors items commanding a really high price. Maybe it just creates too many problems. How about Voodoo's present avatar instead?
Anyway I doubt Keith would ever sue too, too much like Maccaism.

July 14th, 2004 01:15 PM
Gazza Keith mightn't, personally, although I wouldnt bet against it..(remember the injunction he took against that fried chicken company or whatever it was a couple of years ago?)

But the band's lawyers are such a bunch of incredibly over-zealous and petty assholes that anything's possible.

Ok, now we're gonna be sued anyway, so we might as well use Keith's image...

Martha Cake anyone?!?

Could we use that image and not get into potential legal problems? I've always wanted a shirt with that drawing on it.... ever since it was posted. What a day that was!

Ten Thousand Motels >remember the injunction he took against that fried chicken company or whatever it was a couple of years ago?<

Maybe he didn't like the taste of the chicken.

Well that's what they're paid for I guess. There must be some way around it though.

Any type of original artwork would eliminate this headache. Everyone here is an artist of some sort. Start from the bottom up and "build" it from scratch. Then if there's any future money in it (which I doubt but..)RO would get it.

Sir Stonesalot " I don't know the guy, so I have no clue about him. "

Yeah yeah, quit rubbin' it in. We know, we should all be so lucky as you!

Martha I want to see the RONNIE CAKE!
July 14th, 2004 03:06 PM
jb Lets make it simple..a white or grey t with the rocks off web site ....we can wear it at the concerts and bond woith one another....also, maybe a stones emblem on it, buit that probably would result in confiscation...I would like them to be V-neck style and need an extra large.

jb What about the flags?

Some additions, keeping in mind this is NOT about Keno. It's about an official RO shirt:

--The Ronnie Birthday cake drawing.
--The infamous "We're only in it for the money collage"--updated to include new regulars. IMO..this is a must
--White vs. Black as a color. Personally I don't care for gray Tee's.
--Famous quotes from Keithfucious and/or various members.
--I can't give up on the Keith pic...WE WON'T GET SUED!
--The Omega symbol.
--Naturally, the Rocks Off logo

Others??
