He's betrayed us too. I loved how the Stones stayed out of politics and rocked the f*ck out for all these years, now they descend into this petty nonsense. They've lost at least one fan. |

I think you are correct to the extent he claimed not to want to get involved in our politics....I would say more hypocritical than betrayal...remember, however, the tout is very weak in terms of ticket sales(see Detroit, Durham(possibly the worst show), Denver, SBC2, Wachovia2, Salt lake, etc)..I think the hap-hazard manner in which this tour, particularly ticket info has been handled, shows they are all but out of touch with even their most ardent fans |

We feared that the Stones would get involved in politics and Mick promised us they wouldn't. Now, look what's happening. He betrayed his fans and played on our fears. |

This diverts people's attention away from the dismal situation in Detroit ( 1 / 72nd sold )

He probably took a shot to save the tour, but it back fired as most Americans love Bush.....as you said, Hollywood virtually handed Bush the election...Surprised at Mick as he never says anything controversial other than a few played out lines in songs like "cock" or "fuck"....he and Cohl have really mismanged this tour and the sentiment of most red state Americans who love sending other kids off to die in Iraq.. |

I used to think songs like Winter were such gorgeous works of art, full of melodic guitar lines and heartfelt lyrics.
Now all I see is Mick in a bomb belt when I play it. How could I see the beauty in that song knowing Mick wrote Neo-Con? It doesn't make sense!
Goat's Head Soup was the FIRST CD I burned, literally, last night.
I'll burn the rest this weekend.
I wonder if Lisa will have to war a Burka this tour.

'US fan betrays Stones AND His Ignorance' more like it, although actually, as we know, a Bushie/Neocon never was and never could be a true Stones fan. And the comments about the Stones not being political previous simply betrays his ignorance. (SFM, Indian Girl, Sweet Black Angel, Highwire--pray tell what they are about?) |

Right on. This USFan's ignorance is betraying him... (I'm just assuming it's a him. There are bushie chicks too.) The Stones didn't talk about politics during the Vietnam war? Yeah, right!
You know what this means? No concert ticket for Jenna Bush, now! Oh dear, dear!
