I dunno SW.
I really don't know.
European fans screwed.
Euro setlists lame.
Outrageous ticket prices in over-saturated markets.
Then today's lovely news
Kanye West as an opening act.
Charging your opening Band for a seat to the show
Cancelling the Beacon Theatre...the MOST anticipated show by diehard fans.
I never thought I'd feel the way I do right now. But I do.
Chicago will be it for me.
I feel used by a group of millionaires I have supported for 30 years. That makes me mad and it makes me very very sad.

hopefully they'll repeat the last Chi show and you'll get Buddy Guy as the opening act and Rooster on the b-stage! |

Let's piss and moan that they are on the road in support of their first new album since 1997, and album that features just the core of THE ROLLING STONES. Let's piss and moan that THE ROLLING STONES are coming to your town, but tickets are expensive. Let's piss and moan about ticket sales, and wonder if THE ROLLING STONES can sell the house out. Let's piss and moan that THE ROLLING STONES are a big business who put their symbol and likeness on everything from cool tee-shirts to leather jackets. Let's piss and moan that nearly 50 years into their career, you can download THE ROLLING STONES in concert onto cell phones.
And really, let's piss and moan that you are getting older and you feel everything since 1972 has sucked while I'm still getting my rocks off to the sweet, sweet music only THE ROLLING STONES can play.
THE ROLLING STONES ARE COMING...and the line starts here!
Hope the 1972 remark wasn't based on my earlier reply. I on't think that everything the Stones have done since then has went down hill, far from it. And like SW, I still LOVE to crank up the Stones!
But As far as the Stones comming to my town, doubt it. They haven't been here since 1981, and since 1989, it's been at least a 6 hour drive in any direction with the exception of Columbus shows (and Cincy in 1994).
I'll NEVER stop listening to the music, I just don't think the Stones want the fans to be able to afford to attend the shows. |

Repeating is part of the problem! I take that back, it is the entire problem! We allowed, but now we won't. They will get the message. No one ignores a message sent to their wallet!
I love The Stones, but Fuck Them for this shit! |

The thing is, I dont think when they launched the tour that they expected to struggle to sell tickets as much as they have. Its been a rude awakening for them.
Whether their egoes can allow themselves to admit theyve milked things one time too many and lower prices and play smaller places from now on is the thing. I'm personally not so sure that it will.
They can play arenas for what they're charging. It's the expectation of playing stadiums at Barbra Streisand rates that needs to be defenestrated.
