As for taking public transportation, just exactly which transport from Logan Airport are you referring to?

Parking charge at Gillette is robbery, imo. Especially when exit is so disorganized. After the Licks show it took nearly 2 hours to get the hell out of that mess! And remember, we paid for the priv! LOL If I take a car I'll park away and walk. I've got legs, I'll use em. Or I'll take the public transportation. Speaking of which....

Gillette is accessible via the Purple line, aka Commuter Rail (providing MBTA supplies the shuttles at the station). You would want to take the "Providence/Stoughton Line" aka "Attleboro/Stoughton Line" (name change, site might not be updated in every case) to the "Mansfield" stop. On special occasions, MBTA provides shuttle service to/from Gillette from this station. I don't know how to insert a photo so I'll point you to the site:

http://www.mbta.com/

Select: Commuter Rail

Scroll down below the map

Select: Attleboro/stoughton

Click: Get Line

This will give you the schedule and the map for this line. You'll notice the shuttle from Mansfield to Foxboro is on the map for special events. I haven't confirmed if MBTA will offer the shuttle for the Stones show yet but I bet they will.

From Logan, you'd need to take the Blue line shuttle to the "Airport" station and get on the Blue Line inbound to Boston. Get off at "State", take the Orange Line to "Back Bay" Station and you then pick up the commuter rail there.

Nellcote WTF with all of the parking lot whining!
Seasoned tailgaters fire up the grill after,
to celebrate the time they just had!
Time flies when you are having fun.
Few more ribs, break out the hooch, fire up the tuneage, get over it.

I spoke to a co-worker who accepted the free tickets for last night's show. She said maybe 1/4 or more of the stadium was struck due to staging and as for the rest of the stadium, it was maybe about 70% seated. But that was just her impression.

But they don't charge very much for tickets so it's kind of like budget stadium entertainment. Plus, it wasn't sold out even at the bargain price. Green Day plays Gillette as well and they get a decent turn out but then again, they charge a wallet-busting $35.00! LOL

JB,

At least the Patriots' organization never had anything as ridiculous as "Dolphin Denny". Was he supposed to be some sort of act of policital correctness to appeal to the Dolphin's homosexual male fan base?

Depends on your starting location.
28th July 2006 10:40 AM
Nellcote Every city in America should be considered unsafe if corruption is to be used as a benchmark.
On the other hand, none of use have the punchcard for checking out, so, once again, suck it up.
This thread should be re-titled $35 whining!

Yeah, the tunnel accident was tragic and sucked, and of course it needs corrected immediately but I also believe that the media have created a bit of a panic. My Mom in Ohio is all, "be careful in those tunnels... it's no telling when they're all going to just cave in!" I kind of roll my eyes and go, "okay Mom... I'll drive through really, really fast". You can't possibly be serious! Dolfan Denny - the man wore white short shorts and his tube socks pulled up to his knees, not to mention the hat. Good thing he and flipper didn't overlap, otherwise flipper probably would have made him his B#*!h. I don't know how to post photos here, but here are two links to pictures of Dolfan Denny. Let's let the Board judge:

As for the easy access out of Dolphin Stadium, that's because no one goes to the games. Miami has the fairest weather fans in the country - hands down.

It was $45 to park for BOn Jovi in Chicago last week. We went to the White Sox game that night and picked up my friend who lives on michigan ave across from Soldier Field.....using ADDA, we did not park and made him come down to us.

he wore much different stuff at games, shoulder pads, orange mop type wig, robot, space fan look.

he died... but not wearing a 3 pointed hat like some mussel head reliving 1776... miami has easy in and easy out... fair weather or not it's the most accessible stadium in the league... now the orange bowl on the other hand that's another story.
and while you guys lived at the bottom of the afc east for decades your stadium was still hard to get out of... not because it was full of fans but because your roads have access for a high school game not nfl crowds.

please bostonians does seat numbering run same as sections on the floor at krafts "taj mahal"?

Chevy,

Truce.

I don't know for certain on this tour, but for the other Stones shows in Foxboro (Gilette and the old stadium), the seat numbers ran left to right with your back to the stage. So seat 1 in Section A3 is right next to the stage. I realize that this is different than the way the section numbers run. But it makes sense to me. Take the Fleet Center, for example, the seat numbers ran the same way, but the lettered Sections ran in the other direction (so Section A at the Fleet Center was where A1, A2 and A3 are at Gillete and Section B at the Fleet Center is waw where A4, A5 and A6 are at Gillete). For what it's worth, for every Stones show that I have been to on the floor, the seat numbers have worked this way (Foxboro, Gillete, Fleet Center, Hartford (indoor and outdoor), MSG, etc.) I am not saying it is universal, but it is a pretty good bet.

Good luck

I know now why your band served you with walking papers.

I've tolerated your PJ allegiance. But this is unforgiveable.

You do not deserve to see the transcript.

Jumping Jack There are many questions to be answered.

Who did the original design?

Was it changed, by who, and why? A much heavier ceiling than originally specified was installed.

Who was responsible for the installation of the epoxy anchors?

Who was responsible for quality assurance and testing of the epoxy anchors?

When the sections on either side were repaired, why wasn't the section that failed modified as well? That much looks terribly negligent.

My opinions:

Epoxy anchors should never be specified for overhead applications. I bet some fool value engineered it to save a few bucks. Who forced and approved that change?

Standard specs require testing of anchors to assure they are installed properly. It appears both the installation and inspection were deficient. These parties are the real culprits.

It is quite likely that the oversight and management of the entire project was driven by politics and terribly f'd up. The systematic and organizational deficiencies may be partially Bechtel, but based on the way the locals are reacting it was probably seriously screwed up by the owners and local politicians at a level above Bechtel and they are now looking for a scape goat.

My speculation from a long way away. As always, I could be full of shit.
