Topic: Cheap Trick Hits New Career Low! (nsc) Return to archive Page: 1 2
July 21st, 2005 12:50 PM
FPM C10 Veteran rock band Cheap Trick, who were actually quite huge for awhile in the 70s, have hit an all-time low - they are the opening act for Nascar driver Rusty Wallace's farewell tour, coming to Hershey Park's Star Pavilion.

So the main show is going to be some hick Nascar driver signing autographs and letting people gawk at his car. Cheap Trick start playing at 6 pm. Admission is free.

This is sad .

Rick Nielsen was a damn good songwriter ( circa 1977- '79 )

Dan Sure beats paying $50 to see them at a dinner theatre. The County Fair gigs tend to be kind of lame but this is different...and interesting.

2000 Man Man, opening for a car?

Doesn't anyone remember In Color? That's a great album, and certainly more worth checking out than a car.

Max, remember when Bun E. was in his prime? His drum solo was the only one I ever saw worth watching. It was only 30 seconds long, but the fucker did it with baseball bats and a Winston in his mouth.

I'd like to see a car smoke a cigarette.

At a certain point in life people should perhaps not allow themselves to be photographed anymore.

Hope I die before I get b-b-bald!

MrPleasant I remember reading something by Pete about his experience in quitting alcohol, and how later (as a result?) he started to lose his hair. That's frightening.

Taptrick I think Mick's hair looks good right now.
He has always had a high hairline
and has been thin around the temple for years.
Mick looks best when he grows it all long...
including the sides.

Nah that was in 1986 when they were opening for Ratt. These types of events (along with county fairs) tend to be more profitible than club gigs. Actually, these guys are the consummate professionals. They will pretty much show up and play anywhere if they get paid. And its all 4 original members which is quite rare these days.
