Well They sure as hell took their time long enough....8-going on 9 friggin years here (and in actuality we still have no official word). I would hate to see The Rolling Stones's album situation if they were not pushed/scrutized for taking so long.

We would never get the thing.

Ian

Wrong as usual, IanBillen! It hasn't been quite 8 years yet since BTB.

Forgive me, I am looking at 1997-2005. In my eyes that=8 years. By the time we get that it will be basically 8 years. You can sugar coat it because of three
weeks or so but it is too terribly long anyway you look at it.

The "going on 9 years" was an expression for those of us who have lived in
caves most of out lives.

Same here.
Btw, I can't believe the title might be Neocon. An adjective as title is too stupid, to say the least, makes no sense.

What about neolib? Stupid too, huh?

jb This is an ill-thought out tour with poor planning, poor venues, and poor sales. We true fans have seen the end of what once was a very special event. They are no better than the Beachboys now....
July 20th, 2005 01:13 PM
Stones Rough Justice would be the best title.

texile From the ny daily news:

Is Mick Jagger sticking to his pledge to stay out of American politics?

In October, the British rock god declined to weigh in on the Bush-Kerry race, telling us: "I'm from the school that considers it impolite to comment on other people's elections."

But now comes word the Stones' new album features a song, "Sweet Neo-Con," in which Mick supposedly gives a tongue-lashing to the Bush administration.

Jagger's rep insists that the song "doesn't even mention Bush" - leaving us to wonder who the London School of Economics alum is talking about.

so now it's SWEET-neocon........wtf?
regardless if its on the lp - its out there publically, so the stones would look like piss-ants if they withdrew the song....

FPM C10 SWEET Neo-Con?

Sounds to me like it's a re-write of "Sweet Black Angel" only about Condoleeza Rice instead of Angela Davis - and if that's the case then somebody took Mick aside, played him "Condi Condi" from Steve Earle's last album, and told him it had already been done.

I think we said all of that last week, didn't we? I wish these print journalists would keep up with us!

July 20th, 2005 02:19 PM
KeepRigidsLawyer I was under the (apparently mistaken) impression that the song was entitled, Neo-Cun. I have heard that it is nowhere near a political assessment, but merely a playful song identifying Condoleezza Rice as the delicious slice of asscake that she is.

Child of the Moon A Bigger Bang... I kind of like it, personally. Certainly not the greatest title, but I think I like it better than what's been proposed so far. I'll have to let it marinate...

Developing...!
