star star it can be album wise, single wise, or live!
i think his best album was some girls, or sticky
i adore when the whip comes down live in the late 70's and street fighting man was a riot in the mick taylor years, he pounded those skins!

gimmekeef There are so many great ones.....The intro to Paint It Black...the drum roll near the end of Tumblin Dice...His crashin of the cymbals when hes so tired and barely hangin on during Rambler on HBO show....I just love it after they have particularly nailed one..his final crash/roll..with that ever so sly grin...Thats Rock&Roll babay!

LadyJane PIB at MSG on 01/20/06.

If he slammed those bastard cancer cells the way he was slamming those drums.....no wonder he beat that evil disease.

Love you Charlie!!!!!!

LJ.

GotToRollMe I like his work on everything, but what immediately springs to mind is "Flip The Switch." Not one of my favorite Stones songs, but the guitar and drums are excellent on that one.

Bruno Love the class and power in Soul Survivor.

yellerstang I'm going to say 1981 live "You can't always get what you want"

check it out on "Lets spend the night together" DVD. Best live version they ever did.

It's also Wyman at his best.

fantastic choice. A criminally overlooked song, too

Dick Bush "I was bitten by a boar, I was gouged and I was gored ..."

A moving, true confesion of Charlie's singer - Keef and Nicky performing on the very top of their prime - that's where Charlie really shined.

kath i know voodoo is generally panned...but his work on that album was flawless.

the trash cans in the stairwell.....brand new car.....he was exquisite on every cut. thru and thru?? oh man....just killer.

Mel Belli Off the top: "Sparks Will Fly," live at the RPM Club, Toronto, 1994. The way he keeps the high-hat chugging right before the bridge - superhuman.

I'd say "Voodoo" is generally *praised*, though not universally loved. It's a little too long and a little too safe production-wise, but who doesn't think it's a fundamentally solid effort?

Oh man, good to remeber that! Once I had the chance of try that on drums and, as expected to a normal human being, I wasn´t successfull!
