StickyFishFingers,
Kerri Kelly is the new guitarist who has basically replaced Damon, and Damon is now playing Ryan Roxie's licks. As good as Ryan? Not quite, but the show is still tremendous. They dropped Sunset Babies and have added and deleted a few songs, but they are still tight and rock like hell. Get the Montreux 2005 DVD!!!
I spoke with Chuck Garric for a while in Knoxville and he and the rest of the band are very nice people. You can go to 10 - $45 Coop shows for 1 - $450 Stones show and that is the deal of a lifetime. This is a band that sounds much better now than when they ruled the rock world in 73, unlike the Stones and Who that are shadows of their former selves and simply grabbing the money without the conviction, swagger and attitude of their youth. Playing every night in a new city without fan clubs and a posse of bankers is more conducive to RNR than an army of sycophants. Unlike the Stones, their new material live is better than a lot of the stuff from back in the day.

His family pulled up in a big black limo with Bama plates. I was wondering who was arriving in such style and thought perhaps JB was coming to the show, but they were promptly escorted back into the tour buses by Damon. In the mean time my wife was chatting it up with Chuck Garric and Calico. It is amazing how much better a young lady can look with makeup, leathers, and a whip, LOL!!!

JJ,
you should ck out Damon's solo shows if you ever get a chance. He does one once in a blue moon between AC dates.
he did some shows in NY w/Mike Farris a few years back. Got em to do an acoustic version of Sympathy that was amazing!! |
