You are correct, this is precisely why Young Joey and I cannot reveal any details of the Omaha Summit until after it takes place due to a possible revolt of said fans! |

Sadly, no one inside (press) has any clue and the fans were ushered away from the facility for the safety of the band and their legacy! |

This was a super secret undercover press conference show... I'm not even sure it took place. I got lost in the threads sarcasm and hostility....
Not on link in the whole damn thread, not one verified account...
I got three email yesterday telling me to pre-order the DVD...
This is fucking sad... Last year, it felt like I was watching The Stones die, now I feel like I'm hearing second hand details of them dying... Pretty pathetic...

Presumably, as theyve been rehearsing it. Cant see how its deemed to be a tribute to James Brown |

The tarps were a calculated and brilliant marketing decision. The shows were extremely profitable due to guarantees set forth before the first ticket was sold. Whilst fans can certainly gripe about the poor attendance, creative techniques have enabled the Stones to maintain their status as the worlds most profitable band while only loosing personnel three times throughout the course of their history (two "quits" and one "firing").
You can learn a lot from those with far more business savvy. |

It was mentioned in the rehearsal thread that this is indeed "Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)". What this has to do with James Brown is something I've yet to figure out. |

Easy.....they could put his picture on the large screens during regular performances.
Sadly, the Stones are such an afterthought to mainstream European press that it may be just assumed that this was a James Brown song as long as Mick mentioned he was "sending this one out to James". The inevitable missed solo or botched arrangement could easily make it barely recognizable to the average Sly and the Family Stone fan. |

This was necessary as there was just not enough time to do a background check on the fans, particularly if they were going to be allowed to be this close to the band without a wall of bodyguards and other security personnel acting as a human shield. |

I will not be traveling to Europe this time around. I don't trust the possibility of postponements. Hopefully the great fans of Europe (see: Erik) have a great time! |

I can't even think about the White Sox anymore. Back to mediocrity, I guess.
I am disappointed with the organization (all around). |

I am not as upset with Kenny, he did the following positive things:
1. He was right about McCarthy
2. He was right about Sweaty Freddy G.
3. Signing Erstad was smart
4. MacDougal looked great last season
5. Cotts had to go
I wish he would have upgraded the SS position though. Losing Ozuna will be a major hit, but hopefully this will give Owens or Sweeney a chance to play everyday! |

Baseball is my favorite sport.
Rolling Stones are my favorite band.
The press conference will go down as one of the worst debacles (see SLC [punk], Toronto Rocks, China, and "Heartbreaker" from the Paris DVD)........... |
