macman Hey Pdog and others, If you like DBT check out "Two Cow Garage" (TCG) if you havent done so already. They have a new CD out as of last month (twocowgarage.com)

The Jason Isbell solo cd will finally be issued next month I believe and I saw his solo show here in town a couple of months ago...great show and great new songs! Nice guy and very aproachable to boot!

"boot" is a very sensitive word for Jason Isbell and his fans these days

Honky Tonk Man The Killers are the only fairly recent band which I really like at the moment. I'm finding the latest Arctic Monkeys effort to be a real dissapointment. The Kings Of Leon etc I just find boring.

The best CD I've bought recently is Send Away The Tigers by The Manic Street Preachers. It's mind blowingly good. They released the'ye debut album 15 years ago though, so are not quite 'new'!

And your point is what exactly? I just couldn't give a stuff about a lot of todays rock 'n' roll music. A few years back I bought the NME every week and bought Youth and Young Manhood upon release, but that whole scene just doesn't float my boat anymore.

The only one of those bands with a place in my heart are The Strokes. They changed everything for me. They got me listening to The Velvet Underground, got me to grow my hair long and to where Converse.

Pdogs girs aren't bad either. Who wouldn't want to share the same taste in music???

I've always dug wearing chucks, but I haven't got my hair cut in a long time...
The Strokes first album had me digging into my VU again....

and the girls... they just don't quit... especially the emo chicks....lol!

Lord Homosex I didn't even know that Isbell left the Truckers. Man I am so unhip. haha Now I got to add another artist to the list I made from all the pointers I got from y'all. I actually been stumbling on a lot of intersting names thru Pandora radio. You can get the computer brain to spit out some wild choices every once in a while by clever progarmming of 'your' station. I have Lucinda Williams, Brian Jonestown, Flogging Molly and the (NY) Panthers on my station and it comes up with a lot of cool sounding names. That I aim to purchase. When I ask Ms Pandora why I get a certain artist it's always the same reason "vocal music, major key tonality (?) and basic rocksong structure etc"

Scott Deluxe Drake has a new solo album with Jeff Fieldhouse on guitar. I haven't heard it yet but I am trying to track it down. He never put out a bad album though.

And I just got a recording of the record release party in Portland on Saturday and it has a nice cover of Rip This Joint. Not sure if it's on the new album or not as I haven't found it yet.
