Some Guy I really like Just my imagination. I heard that on shuffle in my cd player and its been a while. Had to replay that tune a couple of times. I think they really made it their own.

Jumacfly Agree Some GUy!!!!
my fav version is from handsome girlzzz....
I know they played it in 1999..ever heard this one??
April 9th, 2004 11:48 AM
T&A pretty good call. I didn't think the '99 version held a candle to the 81 and 78 versions, though.

Love in Vain would have to be among the finalists, too!

jb Definitely "JMI"....particularly the "Handsome Girls" edition on side three.

steel driving hammer Strickly a dream come true...

Of all the girls in New Yoke, she love me true...

Her love is ecstasy, when her arms enfold me,

I hear her tender rhapsody, but in reality, she doesn't even knoooooooooooow me.

Doesn't get much better when the Stones do that number.

glencar I was just about to post "Ain't Too Proud To Beg" myself. Especially the version that was shown on "Midnight Special" where Mick repeats lyrics at the end.

Saint Sway "I Dont Know Why" by Stevie Wonder. The Stones version is pretty amazing. Moving tune. I still cant believe it never made its way onto an album

Always like dat one. Social D's version doesn't come close.

Prodigal Son Yeah, so many great remakes. They couldn't top the blues originals it seems, as there is mixed emotions on that. But outside of those early, cover-filled days (pre-1966), my list goes:
1. I Don't Why I Love You: This is just awesome, the piano grooving, Mick's impassioned vocals attempting to be Stevie Wonder and the rocking middle with the searing slide guitar. I love it too. Shoulda been an album track on Let it Bleed over, say, "Country Honk."
2. Prodigal Son-no, not cause of its shared name.
3. Just My Imagination
4. Love in Vain
5. Stop Breaking Down
6. Ain't Too Proud to Beg
7. Mannish Boy
8. Crackin' up
9. Going to a Go-Go
10. You Gotta Move

nah, wait, I'm joking.....

I'd say

Stop Breaking Down
You Gotta Move
Love in Vain
Prodigal Son
Just My Imagination
Hound Dog (Memphis 78)
My Girl (and I'm not joking)

J.J.Flash Still serious, "Under the Boardwalk".
How beatiful is the harmony on vocals that our boys have made on this one.
