Topic: Most underrated Stones song Return to archive Page: 1 2

Spru What do you think is the Stones most underrated song? A true "gem" in their catalogue. They obviously have plenty of warhorses we hear on the radio and when they tour, but what song would you see as a true underrated gem - something overlooked by radio, the band, and even fans. I have 3: 19th Nervous Breakdown, Sister Morphine, and Soul Survivor. Any thoughts?

19th NB isn't thaatttt overlooked, although it is somewhat underrated. The other 2 are good choices. 3 very underrated tunes IMO are

Dance Little Sister (only Keith could make the song groove w/ such a simple riff)
Already Over Me (fits the definition of a "gem"..underrated song on an unpopular album)
Casino Boogie (yes it's on Exile but never live...Bobby Keys anyone?? oh and MT's fadeout solo is one of his most underrated works)

texile soul survivor and dance little sister are more obscure than underrated..because for the most part - fans love them, accept them.

indian girl gets my vote and i know i'm in the minority,
but this is a song that has been largely misunderstood and trashed.

Throwaway I like Indian Girl..and not in a joking way, like I seriously enjoy the song. Oh and another one that the BAND underrates, but is appreciated by most fans, is Let It Loose. I think "Tie You Up" is underrated all around, though I do get hopeful b/c of the moderate fan support of the tune.
