Excellent observation TBS! You have done this board a "solid." And there's room for one more in the avatar... |

I want to sincerely thank those of you who understand why I(as well as Pug) have for years demanded higher prices . As a result of the higher ticket price, we have been privileged to see the Stones tour on a more or less continuous basis since 89. The revenue we generate here(USD) has enabled the band to continue to amaze us with incredible stage production, unique fan club opportunities, and playing in more diverse markets than we could ever dream of in the past. The legacy, albeit ignored by todays youth(truly the worst generation to ever inhabit this planet) was long ago sealed during the "Golden Age'(see Mick Taylor period). We (the Stones) could care less what todays youth and or psedo-intellectual U2 critics thinkof us...We are simply the greatest fucking rock band that shall ever exist. We(the true fans-about 500k strong) will pay whatever is necessary to allow our heroes to maintain they luxurious life-stye which they deserve, and to see them perform, which is a privilege, not a right!!!
I urge Mr. Cohl(a brillaint Canadian Jew), to continue to be a maverick and set higher standards for the Stones!!! I want tickets to escalate to prices never seen before in the industry!!! We can be the first band to charge $500 for the worst seats if we carefully choose our venues and reach out to our target audience(gross income between 150-300k). Babs will test the waters withher upcoming tour with some tickets at $1500...if it works, we will put togther a fan package upwards of 5-10K...and it will sell!!!! I am very excited about what we can achieve in the future....god willing all memebers remain healthy, we will continue to win the gross even in our 70's, while the media darklings U2/Aersosmith/Macca, et al finish way behind....U2 is a fraud and the fact that todays music critic love them, is an outrageous indulgence of self-aggrandizing..they are as phony as a $3 dollar bill-fuck them and Aerosmith!!! We(the real fans) are comfortable with the new price structure and we don't need or want those who bitch about prices/setlists us attending the shows anyway. I want to thank Pug(only 29) for having the wisedom to understand what I have been preaching for over 10yrs...I have been 100% correct on basically all issues, and if you stickwith me kid, I see big $$$ in the future for you!!!! I thank all of you for your kind responses and supportive e-mails!!!!

I personally prefer outtakes to the live shows, but it is nice to get a few shows and the occasional dvd from each era to hear how the band changed, for better or worse. |

Well Frankie, you will be very happy with the lil project I've been working on, very, very happy...
I may get RonCo to put this out on 8 track.
Keep on the lookout, it should be finished by the end of the month. |

I saw your post on this on the torrent thread. 8 track would be sweet but if you could cut it on vinyl. . .now we're talkin'. |

You torrent? It will be there when it's completed...
Vinyl would be cool, except it would be about ten records... |

I started using the tracker a couple of months ago. My collection has grown quite nicely! I will keep my eye out. I'm sure yours will be good, but Marko set the bar fairly high with "Pirates". Good luck |

I think I missed Pirates, I got his Vaults... Fuck, I'm so not on the ball. But yes, I've scored tremendously since I got onto DAD and this tracker went up...
What i'm doing isn't anything uncircualted, I'm just hoping, and trying to make something interesting... I hope! |

I will preface this by saying that I have not ttended one bad show this tour(17) and the sound has been much better than the last 3 tours. Nonetheless, I don't understand why people are so caught up with obtaining boots/dvd's of the shows. Theyu sound, imo, atrocious, and do not do justice to the band. I have yet to hear a post 81 boot, with a few exceptions, that sounds fantastic. Even listening to the "soundboard" quality CopaCabana show was very disappointing. None of the morder n era boots come close to any of the boots from th3 72-81 period. I urge all of you to stop this insanity ....thank you.
RENOUNCE YOUR HEBREW HERITAGE AND I'LL DROP IT IMMEDIATELY! |

So yer still hung up on the sound quality thing?
OK.
I'm not.
But then again, I like Punk and Garage. I'm more interested in the emotion and raw edge of Rock n Roll. It is my opinion that Rock n Roll sounds better when it's ragged and sloppy. I don't like pristine sound quality. Pristine sound quality does not, IMO, promote the best qualities of Rock n Roll. Pristine sound give Rock n Roll a certain sterileness that I don't care for. I want my Rock n Roll tarnished. For me, it is a valuable patina that actually ADDS value. If you strip that patina away, the value plummets.
See, I LIKE albums that were recorded on a cheap 4 track in the bass players living room in 3 days time. I like music that sounds like I myself could have created. It makes the music much more of a participatory thing. IMO, that gives it a certain vitality that pristine, slick, maestronic music just can't convey. See, it's that participatory thing that attracts me to bootlegs as well. An audience recording sounds like, well, that you are in the audience. And I LOVE being in the audience. People jabbering and dancing and screaming and getting fucked up...man, that's all part of it. Rock n Roll is earthy, sweaty, smoke filled, jostled and cracked. Audience boots deliver that.
Some people get that, others don't. Either way is fine. What isn't cool, is the idea that Rock n Roll music should be ELITIST. Fuck that with a sharp stick. Rock n Roll is everyman/woman music. It belongs to all of us. Even the poor schlub who listens on a $39 boom box. |

he has created several millionaires and possibly two centi millionaires. Now that he is in control of U2, Macca, and the Stones....he holds the future of big ticket touring in his back pocket. He truly is a brilliant man, like him or not, he put the stones back on the road in 89 and thereafter and made people a TON of money. Everyone should take a few minutes tonite to acknowledge the Cohls (see Young Jake) for giving us a new era of Stones music, both live and in studio to enjoy! |

Possible, but unlikely. I find even the "Golden Era" audience recordings painful to listen to with the eception of LA Friday.........of course. without a lead guitar play , the sound has been awkward for many years, but the 78-81 boots were very solid. |
