glencar Pakistan

On August 1 2007 Obama declared in his foreign policy speech that the United States must be willing to strike al Qaeda targets inside Pakistan, with or without the consent of the Pakistani government. He claimed that if elected, "If we have actionable intelligence about high value terrorist targets and President Musharraf won't act, we will".[66] On the same day in response, then-White House press secretary Tony Snow highlighted the policy's shift from the position established by the Bush Administration, he said: "Our approach to Pakistan is one that not only respects the sovereignty of Pakistan as a sovereign government, but is also designed to work in a way where we are working in cooperation with the local government".[67]

ABC News described the policy speech as "counterintuitive", and commented on how "one of the more liberal candidates in the race, is proposing a geopolitical posture that is more aggressive than that of President Bush".[68]

And Pakistan while he's at it? "More aggressive than that of Pres. Bush"!!!!!!!

glencar Thank you, wasted, for getting that info out there. It's one thing to be woefully under-prepared for the Presidency, it's quite worse to be wrong on so many issues. Between this & his youthful Muslimness, November will be a cakewalk!

I think that description is reserved for the guy who is in office now.....Obama will be exposed as soon as the media gets off the bandwagon and he actually is forced to debate
15th February 2008 01:23 PM
glencar Make no mistake: W was also woefully under-prepared but is that what we want more of? When does it stop?
15th February 2008 01:26 PM
glencar And will the media get off his bandwagon? Doubtful.

Apparently, it was made by her fans and Hillary had nothing to do with it, but said that she liked it.

They won't be the only ones that go batshit! Fuck that bitch for helping to give the telecoms immunity. I might have voted for her as a last resort if she ended up as the candidate. She has shown her true colors by choosing the corporations over the constitution. FUCK that bitch!

Brainbell Jangler Tom Tomorrow's "This Modern World" is always spot-on. And I find it hard to believe that glencar doesn't know about the telecom immunity provision of the so-called "Protect America Act" (I love these Orwellian names for backdoor restrictions of the Bill of Rights). Bush says if Congress doesn't renew the act immediately, the terrorists will be aided materially, but he'll veto the bill if it doesn't include immunity for telecommunications corporations who may have violated their customers' privacy at Bush-Cheney's behest. So if you had any question which was more important to Bush--fighting terrorism or protecting corporations--now you know.

That's not really true. We fought for our freedom b/c The Colonies had an incredible economic potential, and were being taxed, with no say in the way they were governed.
Socialism?
And just so you know, you wrote and write tons of stuff, I think about, and always take into my mind and heart... but this line, made me say, Huh?

I think Obama's and McCain's popularity can be attributed to the fact that they are not Bush's or Clinton's. After 12 years of the Bush family and 8 years of the Clinton family, this country desperately wants to move on with someone that has nothing to do with either family.
