Bridges to Babylon is such a cool album.
Drum beat and cranky guitar in flip the switch are powerful.
Always Suffering and Already over me are great ballads.
Keith songs are just good amazing! How can i stop, Thief in the night and reaggea song You dont have to mean it.
There are no bad songs in this album.
So thats my opinion.. discuss. |

gunface is fucking horrible |

It's way better than ABB, but not better than VL. |

I like it alot. It's different than the usual Stones Cd. I like the risks they took. |

You could make two great albums by combing the best of the last three together. |

MUCH better than ABB.
Keith's songs are priceless. |

Bridges To Babylon is a real favorite of mine (and it was a great tour). It's one of those albums I play on a regular basis - and I can't even say that about Voodoo Lounge or ABB. I like every song on this disc, even the ones that usually get slammed (Gunface, Might As Well Get Juiced).
Flip The Switch
Anybody Seen My Baby
Low Down
Already Over Me
Gunface
You Don't Have To Mean It
Out Of Control
Saint Of Me
Might As Well Get Juiced
Always Suffering
Too Tight
Thief In The Night
How Can I Stop
Actually, "Low Down" and "Too Tight" are the weakest tracks, in my opinion.

Great tour but Im not a fan of the album.Outta Control is a rip off of Pappa Was A Rolling Stone...the rest of the album is okay but where is the HIT? The one riff that grabs you?..was at MSG when they did Might As well Get Juiced..it was interesting as a a first but the album lacks legs imho..

Personally I think "Too Tight" is one of the best of the album. Kind of a weird album, very little Ronnie, something I don't like but Waddy adds a lot of nice licks to it. I mean, anybody else really think they'd release a song like "Might as Well," let alone play it live? |

Low Down was good at that 1st MSG show. I was surprised they never did it again. |

B2B is a very good record, with a magic production, I like most of the songs.
Guitars on "Already over me" are priceless, and the rockers do it for me.
B2B was a very ambitious project, something new and fresh, the opposite of ABB in fact
Great package too.
The B2B stage was also IMHO the best of the post 89' tours,I remember that Keef did most of guitar parts on this tour, very proeminent in the mix unlike a lost Ronnie.

Oh No Not You Again
You Don't Have to Mean it
The Worst
Out of Control
New Faces
Dangerous Beauty
Saint of Me
Laugh I Nearly Died
Thief in the Night
(Disc 2)
Love is Strong
Low Down
Rough Justice
I Go Wild
Mean Disposition
Too Tight
Brand New Car
Anybody Seen My Baby?
Sweethearts Together
Blinded by Rainbows
Driving Too Fast
Thru and Thru
or better yet
Undercover of the Dirty Steel Wheels (21 tracks)
(disc 1)
Undercover of the Night
Mixed Emotions
Terrifying
Break the Spell
She Was Hot
Hearts for Sale
Fight
Highwire (bonus)
Harlem Shuffle
Continental Drift
Sleep Tonight
(Disc 2)
One Hit (To the Body)
Too Tough
Rock and a Hard Place
Slipping Away
Wanna Hold You
Sad Sad Sad

Had it With You

I disagree.. Steel Wheels and Voodoo Lounge are still better than Bridges to babylon. Slightly.
I still wonder why didin't B2B have a hit songs(s). |

No hits in the US because the market had changed. |

Every time The Rolling Stones came out with an album I always thought it was the Best or better then the last one.
It definitely says some thing about our tastes
They have gotten Better with age -
Just like a fine wine. :] |

Word. I can't believe that came out 11 years ago!!!!!!!
That's like talking about Some Girls during the Steel Wheels tour.
Dudes are old? Shit, I'm getting old. |
|
GotToRollMe |
As far as a "hit," I'd think that would be "Anybody Seen My Baby." |

54 year olds dont tend to have hit singles. |

Flip the Switch live in St. Louis was great, Keef rocked the house. OOC was definitley a highlight on the tour. They played OOC in Columbus, Ohio prior to the album being released, never heard anything like it from the Uglies, quite amazing.... |
|
Gazza |
OOC was the highlight of pretty much any show I saw on that tour. It was refreshing to see fans 'wowed' so much by a new song.
Pity they gave up trying to do that on subsequent tours. |
