of all time by any band ever? |

Now I was told after it is all said and done - each Stone will walk away with about $40 million from this tour, up from about $35 million from the last tour. Merchandise will likely add another couple million for the three founding members each. Add in the new album, residual earnings, and Mick and Keith should be knocking on total yearly earnings of about $55 million.
Not too shabby, but also not as much as I would have thought.
Anyone in here confirm or reject that amount? |

This tour could gross more than $500 million if they keep touring in the fall. |

When Mick & Keith and the Stones Machine were features in (I think) Fortune magazine back in 2002...Keith was quoted as say, something like " Every morning I wake up and I am $50,000 richer". This comes from the ongoing merchandising, airplay, publishing rights, sales of the entire catalogue.
That alone comes to 18 million a year...insane!! |
|

a return trip to Omaha this fall should net the entire band 5.5 mil .
Word ! |

U2 was listed as 2005 winner at 156Mil with Stones at 92Mil(only 44 shows).....however, if you include 06, we are 162Mil plus and will easily defeat the U2 in final gross revenue..........However, U2 are clearly a force that will challenge our longevity and concert grosses as they are the 81 Stones, an d have 2 decades plus left in them Cohl, as well, has made the transition form RS to U2 as he sees the writing (and $$$$$$) on the wall. I greeted him, but he moves real fast....

I give you the lightbulb of awareness and truth in posting award. You've opened my eyes and I've seen through the smokescreen of Cohl. I can't believe I ever doubted you...

Stones will hold the highest grossing tour record. Even after they retire this will not be broken.
Pug will hold the highest amount of money ever OWED to a single establishment from playing one gig. Even though the Voodoo Pugs are retired, this will not be broken. |

No! We want him to hold the record!!
if we pay off a portion of the fee his band was charged to play then it only opens up an opportunity for Vertigo, Joshua Tree or another U2 cover band to swoop in and claim the record, adding only further humiliation. |

That assumes that U2 is going to stay together, and not split, as has been speculated for a long time (Dave Marsh postulated this back in 1994). With Bono's overly large ego, the other members of U2's patience must be wearing thin. |

True about Bono's ego. I bet most people couldn't even name U2's bassist or drummer. |

Jim post looks more like Twain than Twain did. "Each sentnce and word is a true gem, his show should be on Broadway." Plus its nice that Mark Twain was Shania's father. |

Wow, I thought I could stump you with the Post reference, but I forgot how much more publicity Post generates with his plays than he used to generate with his albums in the late 1970's. Seeing him do live versions of Rachael's song from the '79 album and Back on the Street Again were some of the first live shows I attended.
Give me some time, and I may stump your musical knowledge, yet. |

I'm always up for a challenge, I do have some weak spots as far as music knowledge goes, but I can't give away where they lie... |

U2 attendance in Argentina: 150,000 in two concerts! (Stones 145,000)
More humiliation... |
