Live at Leeds (recorded 36 years ago today).
The boot LAL Complete is the best version in my opinion.
I do have a soft spot for the original 6 track one, bang like being hit in the face with a baseball bat (in a good way) |

Isle of wight is a great video, as far as the better album, I'd go with Live At Leeds Deluxe. I wish they'd bring out "Young Man Blues" and "Shakin' All Over" again!! |

They needs to bring back the original Leeds in remastered form. The ideal package would be 3 cd's; the original album on 1 disc (including the gaps in between the tracks and the little scratches and pops that add to the atmosphere of the original album) and the complete concert in the correct order on 2 discs. |

In order to cheer the late Marlon Brando up, Pete would often chase him around the house in a crotch-less Hamburgler suit.

Agree 100% Pulling the Tommy section out and putting it on a separate disc was a dumb thing to do. Leeds is an overall better performance, but the end of Isle of Wight, where for example, Townshend rips a killer solo instead of singing his part of Naked Eye is sublime. Also, I Don't Even Know Myself and Water in the first part are incredible. Makes it a tough call. |

I didn't say that the Who doesn't rock. All I said was that Eminence Front and 5:15 are the only songs I can listen to anymore. Everything else has been played to death. And without Entwistle, it isn't the same, especially live. Moon's drumming was great, but Entwistle was the Who's soul and conscience. |

He must have been Catholic then 'cause that sounds like some hardcore purgatory!
The Ox would not have this place Joey - you know better than that! He is in paradise as we speak, snorting coke off the sweet young asses of two delightful Vegas whores!
Good God the man knew how to make an exit!
Bless his ham-fisted bass playing! |

Ah, Rough Boys-era Pete!
that song spoke to me loud and clear when I was but a young -n- tough rough boy myself...
"Gonna get inside you,
Gonna get inside your bitter mind,
Rough boys, don't walk away,
wanna buy you leather
Make noise, try and talk me away
We can't be seen together"
The world was a much simpler place then... |

The Hard Rock in Vegas is not a bad spot to burn 5 or 6 grand away in pursuit of one's darker desires. The Casino is rather 2nd rate, but the rooms are decent and the action to be had in the compound is...enjoyable.
Sadly, if you got a bad ticker, one should stay away from the coke. He was likely popping Viagra as well and the poor Ox's pumper just gave out...
His final hours were a spankin' good time though!
Now THAT'S Rock -n- Roll!
...and I like it! |
