texile if someone has already posted this,
i apologize,
but what kind of balls does keith have....
the guy, and i god knows i love him - was whacked out for an entire decade.....DEFIANTLY!
he had to get busted before he was forced to 'get clean' -
and got off easy as far as the consequences....

i'm not saying you should pity winehouse, no one should pity an addict - you may as well be an enabler...
but jeez - keith is the last one to be casting stones....
he needs to learn a little empathy -
and what's with the 'bitch' shit?
what is he, 14 years old?

Keith Richards throws stones at Winehouse

BERLIN (Hollywood Reporter) - Rolling Stones guitarist Keith Richards has offered troubled singer Amy Winehouse some free advice on kicking the drug habit.

"She should get her act together," the former junkie said during a round-table interview at the Berlin International Film Festival on Friday to promote Martin Scorsese's Rolling Stones documentary "Shine a Light."

The often-addled rocker paused, then added: "Apart from that, I have got nothing to say to the b****."

Winehouse, 24, entered a London rehab clinic last month in hopes of kicking a destructive habit that has overshadowed her promising career.

Stones frontman Mick Jagger, himself no stranger to pharmaceutical experimentation and resulting legal troubles, compared the drug problems of the present generation of Brit rock stars, such as Winehouse and Pete Doherty, to his early days when drugs became an integral part of the pop music scene.

"When we were experimenting with drugs, little was known about the effects," Jagger said. "In our time there were no rehab centres like today. Anyway, I did not know about them."

Sounding a bit like the 64-year-old grandfather that he is, the fitness fanatic said he couldn't understand how the younger generation, knowing the dangers of drug use, could still be users.

stonedinaustralia agreed tex

well-put, my stoned aussie....
keith has always been arrogant and - again, i love the guy -
but he's gotten away with alot of shit, drug-wise -and yet comes across as a child who has been indulged for too long AND 'a cranky old git.'
11th February 2008 12:22 AM
JOHNNYSTONED how about the way keith talks about brian jones. you would never know they were once best friends or that brian had alot to do with leading the way musically and drug wise.
maybe if there had been more aa and na like there is today
brian would still be here. i love keith too and once
idolized him but he sure is a hypocrite. and a very lucky one at that. let he who is without sin cast the first stone.

voodoodrew I think yall are being too hard on Keith. You seem to forget that Amy Winehouse sang with the Stones at the Isle of Wight, chewed gum on stage as she sang with them, and didn't even bother to learn the words of the song (after reportedly refusing to go to rehearsal). And you want to tell me that Keith is the one showing disrespect? Give me a break - he was gracious enough to say she needed to straighten herself out. The "bitch" comment, I have no doubt, is in relation to the way she treated him and his band.
11th February 2008 01:24 AM
stonedinaustralia well i didn't know that drew - so thanks for that - it has changed ny view a little
11th February 2008 02:40 AM
FotiniD Oh, I don't take such Keith comments seriously.
And yes, he is turning a little cranky, but I think it's because, hmmm, how can I say this... (whispers): he's getting old babies And to my experience, most people do indeed seem to get crankier as they're growing older.

Not to mention she was supposed to open for them a couple of times but had to cancel at the last minute due to her problems.

Sometimes I feel people take Keith's comments more seriously than he does.
11th February 2008 05:04 AM
Slavegirl I think she's a bitch for flaking out on them too. I mean what kind of a dumb ass would flake out on the chance to open for the Rolling Stones? Hello!!! "Gee I'm supposed to open for the Stones tonight but I think I'll just go get drunk and do a some heroin with a bunch of 23 year olds instead." Yea!
11th February 2008 06:39 AM
lotsajizz Keith never had the public pathetic scenes that bimbo Winehouse has had....
11th February 2008 07:09 AM
Gazza Yeah, after all, Keith's never jeopardised any Stones shows by acting irresponsibly...

Bit of a fuss over nothing, although Keith's constant sniping at anyone who's flavour of the month/younger than him and white in order to attract attention gets to be tiresome after a while. Not to mention his choice of language.

If he cant stand these people as much as he says he does, why does he allow them to share a stage with the Stones anyway? Amy as a guest was a good move, although she somewhat blew it - but the Stones allowing the likes of Timberlake and Aguilera to guest with them at high profile events merely prove further that Keith has long ago pretty much abdicated most of the quality control over his band

gimmekeef LOL..Never though Id hear Quality Control and the Stones linked....Would love seeing them write the ISO docs on that one!....Keith seems to be battling Wyman for most times in the news these days...
11th February 2008 12:21 PM
Stray Cat UK Stop all this Keith bashing !

He's always talked bollocks and it's part of his appeal.

I think he looks better than he has for 10 years BTW.

Gazza LOL..true

As long as we know he's talking bollocks. God forbid we started taking him seriously.

(and I agree....best he's looked in a decade or more)

well, a few years ago you'd never see teen acts like Timberlake duetting with them, live albums being released which were thrown together with such haste that it was clear that no one in the band had bothered listening to it beforehand, half arsed repackages being assembled for contractual obligation purposes which were of a similar standard as the ones they used to loudly protest about when Decca did the same - I dont think I need to go any further. They've certainly lowered their standards in recent years.

Steel Wheels I defend the Timberlake nonsense. It was a charity event, wasn't it? Now if he appears at regular shows on the b-stage, that's something different.

Max Volume!!! Hey, you know, Keith uses the word b**** the way most people use the words ma'am or lady. I wouldn't read a lot into his choice of word. I wouldn't use it. Nor would I use lady -- or ma'am for anyone under the age of 92 -- but I wouldn't read a lot into his use of b****.

Fail to see what that has to do with it, to be honest. Being for a charitable cause is no excuse for a musical atrocity.
