i first saw him in some indie australian film with bryan brown.....years ago - thinking he could be another great australian import, like russell crow.
he did some great things -
he was amazingingly believable in dogtown and z-boys, brokeback mountain...he really was a chameleon.
as shocked as i was to here this news, someone at work mentioned that brad renfro had also died - i hadn't known this....
in his case, i was not shocked, but even more saddened...he had shown so much promise in his youth before drugs took hold - i hoped he would get his shit together.
two tragedies so close together. |
