Sir Stonesalot The Rolling Stones lose to U2. "How to Dismantle an Atomic Bomb" won the Grammy for Rock Album of the Year, beating the Rolling Stones "A Bigger Bang".

Jb must be cussing up a storm down in Boca.

speedfreakjive No surprises then. But Stones die-hards can rest assured that the Stones will earn a lot more money from touring this fiscal year than u2, if you are wanting to be all competitive about it.

Poison Dart ABB is better than Atomic Bomb. And this comes from someone who is a fan of both bands.

PartyDoll MEG O.K. Off topic. The grammy's weren't even worth watching(IMHO). But I did catch a shot of Joe Perry. Is he ill or back on the juice, he looked terrible!

Soldatti What the hell are the Grammy's?
I think that the name is "U2 awards" isn't it? They won 4-5 so far and more than 10 in the last 5 years (with only 2 albums)

I cannot confirm, but I beleive that next year Bono will be knighted and named "pope" by the committee
February 8th, 2006 11:21 PM
Soldatti What a surprise, U2 won for album of the year again...

I didn't and won't ever watch any awards shows... I'd rather watch American Idol, and I hate that show...

UGot2Rollme I've been a U2 fan for years, but really dislike "Bomb", guess I'm in the minority (but not on this board).

I actually wish I could have seen the Grammy's because of SLY STONE's appearance.

Springsteen was outstanding.

Break The Spell This is disappointing but I can't say I'm surprised, U2 have been their darlings for ages now. If they can win by putting out an album of slow songs that all sound alike, they can win next time by doing an album of Irish drinking songs with hip-hop and disco elements thrown in to show their "passion"!! Its not like the grammy people know what their talking about, remember, they gave Jethro Tull a grammy for "heavy metal" album of the year in 1989!! I like JT, but I'm not sure which album of theirs is metal, I guess the grammy people hear things that we can't!!
February 9th, 2006 08:15 AM
riccardo I don't know what you've been looking at,but I read the best Rock Album is ABB by the Stones, isn't that a Grammy?
February 9th, 2006 08:17 AM
Factory Girl I didn't watch the Grammies.

I'd rather watch "Freaks & Geeks" Fear Factor...yikes!

U2 have pimped out years ago. Their last relevant cd was "Achtung baby". However, I'm partial to Zooropa.

Btw, what is wrong with Joe Perry? He is such a hottie.

Yes! I was so looking forward to seeing Sly. Then they did that awful "all-star" crapola with about 100 people on the stage for "I Wanna Take You Higher," and when Sly finally did come out, he looked awful and spent about a minute and a half onstage and then walked off before the song was even over! Steven Tyler actually shook his head in disbelief. I was hoping for a comeback from the man, but from the looks of things last night it ain't gonna happen.

I should know better than to expect anything good from the Grammies, but I was almost in tears after that one. Sly Stone is a god amongst men. Such a shame.

Sorry, I missed Madonna. I also missed Bowie. He was supposed to get a Lifetime Achievement Award. Would have liked to have seen that too...
