Keith was 36 years old on December 18th, 1979. His old London friend, David Courts made him a silver skull ring as a present, a grinning death's head that became a trademark, emblematic of its owner's precarious address on the edge of mortality. keith was wearing the ring at the birthday party held for him the night he met his wife.
She was a twenty-two year old model named Patti Hanson. She was a wholesome bright looking blonde with lovely eyes and a perfect smile. She had been modeling since she was 16, had been in a couple of movies, was one of that year's top models in NY. She was the youngest daughter of a religious family from Staten Island, very intelligent and sweet. Mutual friends had been trying to fix her up with keith for weeks. Playing cupid, Jerry Hall had invited her to Keith's party at the Roxy Roller Disco, but Anita had also showed up in case Keith wanted to come back to his family in the wake of his breakup with Lil.

Nice to hear that story Jaxx. Thanks for posting it.
Do you happen to know where Keith's bracelet disappeared to... which happened mid-way through the Licks tour? I never heard anything (but the absolutely hilarious made up stories from RIffhard and a few others), about it suddenly vanishing. How long did he wear that bracelet and where did it go?
Inquiring minds.......

It makes you a 2000 MAN, so you'd be stepping back in time, which would be pretty cool. You could see the Licks tour all over again....Go to the Cleveland show on 10-14-2002,definitley their best show of this series. |

" Carl was very found of the boy. For years now, Gimp would sneak down into the Captain's quarters and listen to the old man's tales. He especially liked it when the Captain would show him the scars of a long life lived hard: The nasty gash on his leg from a knife fight in Oakland '69 during Little Queenie. The swollen knuckles from beating Wavy Gravy to within an inch of his life at MSG '72 during Midnight Rambler. The hubcap sized welt on his back from slipping off his chair while doing the Hey Negrita dance in Paris '76....
Gimp was thirteen now so The Lobsterman pushed the bottle his direction. It was with squinted eyes and contorted face that Gimp swallowed the Rum. He smiled and said to the Captain, "Cap'n, tell me 'bout back in the day again. You know, THE day...."
After a long pause .... "

Who's Lil?
I thought that Anita, Keith and Patti had lived together for a while, I guess it could have happened after that party.
Interesting times these must have been, when they were all partying together... |

Lil was a girlfriend of Keith's in between Anita and Patti
Whatever happened to Carl The Lobsterman? Another "Rocks Off" blast from the past! |

I met Carl the Lobsterman in Hartford
5 October the year of our Lord 2002.!
We spoke of the many stories.
Was like I'd lived on the seas for years.
And the Stones played Midnite Rambler and all was good!
