I was flying through LAX over the weekend. A guy who was changing flights with me said he saw Mick at the Beverly Hills hotel. I asked him who he was with... his answer: "a really tall brunette."

just thought i'd pass along.

Gazza so he's not in a Danish hospital after all then?

Good to know!

Gazza he's in the US for one of two reasons - either finalising plans for the Stones' US tour due to begin at the Trocadero in Philly two weeks from today, or else he's scrounging around for complimentary U2 tickets for himself and the giraffe

Oscar nominations come out Tuesday. Maybe that?
My "source" said L'Wren was less than impressive, while Mick "looks amazing for 60+."

January 24th, 2005 07:54 PM
glencar Yes, tomorrow is "Oscar Day" according to tonight's news. I guess he'll at least be nominated.
January 24th, 2005 09:11 PM
Soldatti That's great, Mick winning an Oscar, for no acting...

And if he's one of the 5 acts nominated for best song from a motion picture, then that also means he'll be PERFORMING at the ceremony too.

Oh gawd, Ian'll go apoplectic with rage

Yeah, I think that should be off limits to a Rolling Stone. Performing at the Oscars....Geeze with who....Liza Minelli?

Who knows> Maybe he is there in California working on The New album. remember Don Was said they would probably finish the album on one of the coasts.

I'd imagine he'll perform it with Dave Stewart. All 5 songs nominated are performed at the ceremony, so if he's nominated, he'll be performing. (I'd kill to see Liza Minelli slurring her way through it, now you mention it..that would be hilarious, the chorus would be very fitting)

The theory of him being either in New York or LA working on the new album at the time did occur to me

Factory Girl He was in US being fitted for stilts-like those monsters in the Voodoo Lounge tour.
January 25th, 2005 07:48 AM
Gazza Smartarse

You were at that VL tour opener in Washington, then? I think that was the only show where they used those stilt walkers...
January 25th, 2005 08:06 AM
Factory Girl Yep, G, I was at the Voo Tour opener in WDC.

Bitch MICK was not nominated for the Oscars. First time in 37 years the Golden Globe winner was not nominated. That's a fvckin outrage - MICK & Dave must be so pissed off. Let's all NOT watch.

They used them second night too but the stilt walkers came on stage very late at the end of the song (which was Monkey Man ifI remeber correct)first night they played a vital role but second they were on stage only for a short time.
They were something special as the opening shows in general
27 songs and 7 from VL. First night they played Hot Stuff.
Gazza were you at the shows?
Btw we met in Dublin before Ronnie´s show ("greetings from Marko"...)
