There are times that we can find common ground. This is one of those times! Sir I salute you.
When I met Jagger at a party back in 1991 I showed him a card that I had carried around in my wallet for years. I had written "My the good Lord shine a light on you and make every song ya sing your favorite tune." I no sooner pulled it out of my wallet to show him than I realized how stupid the act would make me look. LOL! He looked at it and smiled and said that he had never seen anyone carry a lyric to that song around with them. He then slowly backed away from me. LOL! Not really. He was quite the gent and later in the night even came up to me and asked if I was having a good time! He even remembered my name. I was blown away. Later that night I shared a joint with him and several others behind the mansion that he had leased and then played roulette next to him at the casino that he had set up on the second floor of said mansion. An incredible night!
Shine A Light has always been one of my absolute favorite tunes off Exile. Of course, I could say that about every song on that album.

No shit?
And you waited all this time to drop that on us? Commendable. You rock when your not talking W, Riffy. I agree I'd spin SAL for the Big Guy if I had the chance too. |

I feel the same way, my Stonesian brother. Despite our differences, you tend to avoid the personal attacks that too often coarsen the discourse here.
What a great story! You lucky bastard. I've had a number of similar experiences, but unfortunately, they've all ended when the alarm clock went off. |

Why thank you BBJ. I try and keep the personal attacks out of most of the political posts. Sometimes they sneak in, but only with posters that have a tendency to go there first. You have never been gone there with me. I have found that when I meet most people face to face our differences go by the wayside anyway. We tend to rasie a pint to the Stones. So in that spirit-Cheers!
My job has given me the chance to do some things that I otherwise would never get to take part in. In radio you gotta take advantage of every perk you get. Lord knows the pay is for shit!

Right back atcha. And thanks for the reminder that I have a few pints of Guinness in the fridge. Here's to you and your family!
Now, enough of this lovefest. I'm going to watch Olbermann yank Bill Orally's chain.

I don't know what songs the Nazarene would have liked, but "just my imagination" seems rather appropriate for the mentality of his followers.
"It was just my imagination, running away with me!"

Now that I think about it, the historical Jesus (Yeheshuah--you don't have to believe in a god or Christian mythology to recognize this person's existence, Fuck), being from the Middle East, would probably find Continental Drift most familiar-sounding. |
