Ahhh... that would be Let It Bleed. I still remember the day... almost not buying it because the track listing was wrong on the back... thinking "Gosh, that's not the same album as what my friend had..." and then buying it for the hell of it and listening to it and falling in love with it.
It was Hard Nox And Durty Sox... play it LOUD!

Hot Rocks...then Sticky Fingers...
Then after being blown away by it's magnificance...
I was listening to the radio a week or two later, then this song came on...it was amazing, catchy riff, loved the sound of the guitars, I liked the song so much, that when it finsihed I waited for the presenter to announce the song and artist and wrote it down, it was the Stones and the song was the The Last Time. The next day, I went to the shops and looked for every Stones cd that had that song on it, I found it and then...
well the story keeps goin on and on...

I was so lucky to have a brother 8 years older who bought all. The first heard was Aftermath, and I got hooked. The first Stones music I bought by my own was the 45 RPM 7" EP with HTW and YCAGWYW and I lost it some years later |

First acquired was Tattoo You taped from my sister's vinyl in 1981. First bought with own money was More Hot Rocks in 82 (Hot Rocks was out that day at the store, and I never bought it because after that I decided to get all their albums!) Next were 12 X 5 and The Rolling Stones Now! |

TATTOO YOU
Cassette tape ('81)--but boy did it have that modern Glimmer Twin engineering like a CD. Gettin' the CD was cool, though, 'cause then I could hit reverse several times on the opening notes of SMU before allowing Keef to launch into it! |

my dad got a lot of Lp's, so i didn't buy anything until i was 14, the first one i met was let it bleed... and really changed my life... and the first I bought was flowers, cause no one in the family had it.

My first purchase was STILL LIFE, 14 years ago back in '89
in their comeback era.. I was only 14 years old at the time,
and the only songs I knew, were "SATISFACTION" and SMU! hehe
Now I never listen to that record!! hehe Mick sounds like
he's all coked up.. too nasally congested for my liking.
But I do like watching the Hampton Roads payperview thing
with Geo-Thoroughly Good..
Cheers

I love this category. By pure blind luck, I got my Moms vinyl record collection and "Decembers Children", "Between The Buttons","NOW", and "Got Live If...." were all in it, in Mono!!!!. That was my beginning. But i wasn't addicted then.
It wasn't until I heard "Street Fighting Man" and "Jumpin Jack Flash", at a friends babeque, that I was hooked!. I think it was 1995. I was a teenager and the guitars blew me away. Completely rocked my world. I've never heard anything like those songs, before or since. |

Back in 1978 was the first record me and my brother bought and that was Some Girls (awsome record).
Can't remember what was the first record I bought with my own money.
But from 1977-78 The Stones have been number one for me.
