I was looking in the Sunday paper in the Entertainment section and saw an article on Ted Nugent.
He picked his favorite top 10 songs of all time, and he had two Stones tunes: "Route 66" and "The Last Time".
I'm guessin' he loves the riff from "The Last Time". |

Hmm... "Sympathy" live in the 60s-70s (the mean guitar version with Mick Taylor and occasionally Ronnie, although I think they dropped it after '78, not sure, though)
"Brown Sugar". That one blows the house down.
So, come to think of it, does "Jumping Jack Flash".
"Can't You Hear Me Knocking", of course - jb, that is Keith on the rhythm at the beginning. Mick Taylor doesn't come in until the verse - he does that almost call-and-response thing with Keith - his guitar sound is much clearer than Keith's for the whole extended jam thing.
"Before They Make Me Run". No questions there...
"Start Me Up", "Street Fighting Man" on the accoustic... hell, most of the War Horses from '68 to '83 owe their popularity to Keith's very unique 'outburst' style of playing. 'Cept for "Angie", of course. "Beast Of Burden" is really a song where Ronnie shines more than Keith... I guess you can say any non-ballads from that period.
"Sway"... oh, wait... heheheh... Sorry, Keith! Mick can play some damn good guitar if he really knows what he wants - "Don't Stop", "Sway", and especially "Hiway Child", where he's a dead ringer for Keith.

That's the two Micks. No Keith on that one. Still, great, huh?

'It's All Over Now' - a great Brian/Keith intro. |

Actually, most of the great 60's guitar intro's are great Brian/Keith intro's, rather than Brian or Keith intro's. |

Street Fighting Man |
Jumping Jack Flash - Keith's personal favorite! |
