Boomy As I'm driving through snowy, slushy Indiana today, I pop in IORR and realize that winter is a comin'.

We all have seasonal albums..so, what are your 3 favorite Stones' studio albums to crank up in the winter??

Mine:

1)Sticky Fingers
2)Goat's Head Soup
3)IORR

Factory Girl My Boomy, you are so sweet!

Ten Thousand Motels Winter sucks. I am not a winter person. There are no Stones albums I associate with winter. If I could I'd boycott winter this year.
12-05-03 02:38 PM
SHINE A LIGHT ok, here's mine:
exile
sticky
let it bleed....in that order.
12-05-03 02:41 PM
jb Goats Head Soup
Beggars Banquet
Exile
Decembers Children
12-05-03 02:43 PM
Joey

Goats Head
IORR
Exile

scully I always associate Beggars Banquet with the Winter, and even more specifically, with Christmas. It's simply because that's when I first heard it, and it was the album that made me a believer in the Stones.

MrPleasant Emotional Rescue.

Too cold to dance so you have to sit through the damn thing!! Seriously, I don't know why I associate the CD with cold weather, maybe because you get to booze and listen to party-like music around december, and ER is the funniest, dumbest, album the boys did. Underrated IMO.

LadyJane
GHS (specifically for the song "Winter")

IORR (specifically for the lyrics .."Watching the snow swirl around her hair and around her feet.")

Flowers (good memories of sitting around on many a cold Buffalo Winter night with my girlfriends...wearing out the vinyl)

LJ.
12-05-03 07:57 PM
Nasty Habits december's children (and everybody's)
aftermath (like a winter storm fears will pierce your bones . . )
between the buttons (brian looks like he's cold!)

12-05-03 08:05 PM
SHINE A LIGHT and when winter really gets me down:
talk is cheap

12-05-03 10:01 PM
glencar Voodoo Lounge cuz it leaves me cold.

GHS cuz of Winter

12-05-03 10:59 PM

Well some people do I suppose. I'm sitting here waiting to get buried in snow and blizzard conditions in some localized areas. (I burst into tears everytime I see the weather report. LOL) Any Stones record will do I guess.
12-06-03 10:08 AM
nankerphelge Yeah, sounds like you are gonna get nailed there TTM!

We got 3 inches.
Everything is closed.

They've sent teams of counselors in to help people cope with the disaster!

What? Are you serious?
The worst part of this storm here was that they had been downplaying it all week..."oh blow..out to the south...minor accumulation" and all that. Then suddenly oh we made a mistake. I was not mentally prepared for it. They're talking 1-2 feet and high winds.
I suppose the good news is that it's summer south of the Equater.
12-06-03 10:39 AM
nankerphelge I'm just kidding, but just a little.

They actually did use the word "cope" on the news this morning as if we got 2 feet and blizzard conditions!

12-06-03 10:50 AM
Madafaka I'm in spring right now, but my winter albums could be:

Exile On Main St.
Some Girls
Flowers
12-06-03 10:52 AM
Ten Thousand Motels

Whew. You scared me there for a second. I knew they were bad down there but not THAT bad.
12-06-03 12:18 PM
KeepRigid IORR
Time Waits for No One and If You Really Want to Be My Friend definitely evoke it for me.

Black and Blue
This one used to, but has managed to defy classification over the years. Memory Motel is now about every girl and no specific girl at the same time.
12-06-03 01:16 PM
glencar I've learned to embrace it. Skiing helps.

Now how many times have I heard THAT!??? I think someone told me that before I had my eyes opened. And I have tried. Just close your eyes and kick those Ruby Slippers together and you're on the beach in the Carribean...for about 2 months. I suppose I could build a snowman.
12-06-03 02:03 PM
Chuck Davis It's Only Rock & Roll

Sticky Fingers

Let It Bleed
12-06-03 03:48 PM
Trey Krimsin Goats Head Soup, because Dancing with Mr. D chills your spine, and of course, Winter.

Exile On Main Street, becuase it charges you up and warms the blood

Love You Live, because I bought the album in the wintertime a couple of years ago.
12-06-03 04:00 PM
gypsy I've noticed that the obese really like winter.
12-06-03 05:34 PM
Monkey Woman I'll nominate Steel Wheels, because it ended the "cold war" between Mick and Keith!
