I forgot about Carol Burnett .
Yes , she is a true comic genius .
The great thing about Carol was that she was very generous with the laughs ( see : Johnny Carson ) .
Carol , like Johnny , was smart enough to realize that when the other cast members , guests , etc ... look good -- the SHOW looks good and the ratings just KEEP skyrocketing ( that is why Carson was Number One in the Friggin Ratings for Thirty FRIGGIN years ) .

when i was a kid, the carol burnett show was like a sanctuary every Saturday night....
NOTHING mattered in that hour except carol, vicki, harvey, tim and of course, lyle....

It was like a Giant Cocktail Party .
