glencar How so, my early voting pal?

Monkey Woman Very obscure: in 1976, Mick was asked by the Chilian-born artist & film-maker Alejandro Jodorowski to play the part of Feyd Rautha in his attempted adaptation of Frank Herbert's classic SF novel Dune as a feature film.

The project never came to green light but it was very close. Orson Welles was to play the Baron Harkonnen and Salvador Dali the Emperor (!), while Pink Floyd agreed to write the soundtrack. And among the artists working on set, costumes and production design were Moebius and H.R. Giger. Both would later work on sci-fi movies (Tron, Alien, etc). The aborted project would also serve to bring Hollywood aware of the possibility of making spectacular and profitable sci-fi films.

glencar He said he took his daughter Jade.

Monkey Woman He saw Tron? Cool, I didn't know that.
It seems that Mick is quite a fan of science-fiction movies. In 1968, he was at the premiere of 2001, A Space Odyssey. And of course there was Freejack.

Another obscure fact: in 1957, the famous SF author Robert A. Heinlein wrote a little humorous novel by the title of The Rolling Stones. No connection of course...

Don Rickles once mentioned to Johnny Carson ( circa 1990 ) that even though he got sent over to Japan in WWII , as a Jew , he never had to do any fighting ..... As Don described it ; he told members of his platoon , " Here's three hundred dollars -- YOU attack !!!!! "

Don Rickles was/is perhaps the funniest "put down" comic ever....he was also good in Casino.

Bloozehound I heard a funny Rodney Dangerfield comedy segment the other day, he was talking about how when he goes to his friends houses their wives would always brag about how their "handyman" husbands can fix everything, and he was embarassed to have them over, because his wife never says those type of things since jewish men were the most "un-handiest men" ever, according to him.
