Topic: Mick's single a flop! Return to archive Page: 1 2
October 26th, 2004 01:01 PM
Soldatti The new Mick's single "Old Habits..." is #52 in the UK Midweek chart selling only 200 copies on the first day.

The prediction of Top 40 is imposible now, the same for Live Licks.

Maxlugar A short review:

I heard "Old Habits" yesterday while driving home.

I was so excited when the DJ announced the next song as new Mick Jagger! YAY!

I turned it up.

About half way through the song, I calmly pulled over, reached into the glove box, pulled out an eight inch deer knife and cut my balls off while staring vacantly through the windshield.

I then threw them out the window, started the car and went back and forth running them over about 11 times.

After getting out and setting them on fire, I got back in the car and drove off a cliff.

I suspect the reaction will be similar worldwide.

Listen at your own peril.

MACKY!!!

kath mick's stuff NEVER does that well. certainly not in comparison to anything the band does. it's preposterous to say that because mick's single off "alfie" (of all things in the world) isn't numero uno on the charts that it's a done deal that anything the band does in terms of putting out some "used material" in another form will fail.

they'll "break even"....

i think we should keep our hopes up that keef and mick are gonna give us something magical....
October 26th, 2004 07:42 PM
mickjaggersgrl well mick tried

Soldatti The point here is this:
If Start Me Up is the new single of the Stones' NOW, barely can make Top 40 in UK and I don't know if will chart on US.
Now imagine Don't Stop in 1981, for me can make the same hit level than Start Me Up.
THE PEOPLE NOT IS INTERESTED IN NEW MUSIC FROM THE STONES, only us the fans.
How many press and critics are complaining about the 7 years without new albums? The Press is happy with this 7 years break!

corgi37 Surely he will finally think "Fuck this, i am NEVER doing solo stuff again". Surely!!!

And, surely, i mean really surely, no one expects Alfie to be a hit in the U.S.?

You Yanks would need sub-titles, would'nt ya's?

I doubt it is possible anymore jb. Between filming movies, producing movies, doing soundtracks, lowering floors for girlfriends, attending fashion shows staying at a suite at The Ritz and selling old songs for commercials it would be hard to actually make a good, muchless great new song

I am George W. telecaster and I approved of this message
