Topic: RONNIE THE KICK BOOZER! Return to archive Page: 1 2

Honky Tonk Man By GORDON SMART
Showbiz Reporter
ROLLING Stones guitarist Ronnie Wood has taken up kickboxing — to help him kick booze.

Hellraiser Ronnie, 57, turned to the martial art after falling off the wagon last month and pretending to BITE people’s ankles in a restaurant.

The dad of four is now out of rehab and pals say the high-kicking sport is helping to keep his mind off his alcohol addiction.

A source said: “Ron’s a surprisingly fit guy considering how much he likes a cigarette.

“He’s really taken to kickboxing and it seems to be keeping him off drink as well as getting him in shape.”

The Sun told two weeks ago how Ronnie had checked into the Priory clinic in London — his third attempt to dry out in four years.

He once admitted drinking eight pints of Guinness, two bottles of vodka and a bottle of Sambuca a day.

The star sought help last month after drunkenly crawling under the table while out for a meal with wife Jo and model friend Kate Moss.

Pals say his recent problems began after the Stones came off tour and he had nothing to occupy his time.

He has already been told to quit smoking after a scan found traces of lung disease.

The source added: “His visit to the Priory worked well and the kickboxing seems to be doing the trick.

“He is on good form and feels great at the moment.”

UGot2Rollme Great news - Ronnie B. Good!
One Hit to the Body on next tour!!

luxury1 This is great news, as long as it is true.

Exercise is a wonderful mind/body tool--sweating out toxins, the release of endorphins (now that is a fine rush), keeping the ole ticker in shape, as well as toning muscles. Good for him. I hope he keeps it up. I bet Mick had something to do with this.......

Jumacfly hope they gonna play "fight" on next tour with a great choregraphy by Ronnie himself...

He should have been fired after 81...to think that he replaced arguably the greatest guitar player of all time, makes him even more of an abomination. He must be fired if they ever want to regain any music credibility.
