Topic: I sure hope August brings us some official word, .... From Ian Return to archive Page: 1 2

Well the end of the summer is approaching around the bend.
I think at least sometime in August if there is to be a studio release this year we should hear something from a 100% credible, Stones related source. This being as the album should as usual be given atleast a few months advance notice. I am suspecting three months. In other words in August we may recieve word that the album is to be released in November or something. If all of August passes as May, June, and July has with no official word from anyone it becomes bleaker and bleaker that a studio release is on-par for this year.
Also, what is the shortest amount of time The Stones have announced an album in relation to it's actual release time?
It is usually 3-4 months, and those instances has been when we've already known for sure that they were in the studio working on an album. In other words at the very fastest it will be a two month or so waiting period between the official word and the release. If all of August goes by with nothing I will be dissapointed....even more so than I already am.
Any thoughts?
Ian

Mel Belli As a hold-me-over, I'm looking forward to Paul Westerberg this fall.

Also, it's close to a lock that Springsteen, Neil Young, R.E.M. and company are playing this fall - all as part of anti-Bush, battleground-state tour.

Much as I love the performers, sorry, can't fork over money for that cause.

Dan I saw them in 00 and 02 at the Hollywood Bowl. I am carless but there is a very slight chance I will ride along with a friend going to visit his mother in the bay area in the near future and hook up with friends. If so I might see if I can score a $20 ticket outside. I promised myself I wasnt going to be dropping any hundred dollar bills on concerts this summer and I was quite saddened when I saw Orchestra section tickets start popping up for Ozzfest yesterday. I am almost tempted but its back to lawn now.

I cannot divulge my sources. All I can say is that one should not become overly excited at this point, unless you wish to obsess over internet rumours.

Sir Stonesalot All we have ever had was...rumor. Not a single member of the Stones or their management has ever promised a new record in this or any year. No one has promised a new tour.

If you are disappointed, it is of your own doing.

I will get excited when and if a press conference is announced to unveil a new album and tour. Not a second before.

If you enjoy wild speculation, and the tease of anonymous internet "insiders"...more power to ya. I'll wait for official word.
