Looking at everyones "list"...I must say...wish it were a top "15" list...there was so much great music in the 80's...just over shadowed by alot of "great" synth-pop, new wave, etc"...that was actually pretty good...and alot of bad music we all loved that is an (can you say guilty pleasure?) embarassement (sp)... |

What do you have against Sandinista?
As Joe says on the opening track - 'Fucking long, innit' ?
Nothing, except its not as good overall as London Calling - because theres too much fluff on it. The best stuff on it is however 'maaaaaaaaaaag-nificent'
see my post near the bottom of page 1 of this thread

I would say the 80s would rank right behind the 90s as the greatest ever decade for music. |

I have taken note of everyone who had listed U2 in their favorites....some of you have earned a "free pass", but others......not so much. This will be taken into account when I decide who will be on my "drink with" list for the fall mini tour! |

None I would put in the top ten though a few individual songs might make the top thousand. |

Tattoo You was solid. Still Life is one of my favorite Stones-albums. I REALLY enjoy Dirty Work. And Steel Wheels also gets a regular spin. I play all of these allot more than Exile On Main Street. |

I enjoy them all, just not anything earth shattering on any of those. The only 3 things they are really remembered for from the 80s are Start Me Up and 2 tours. |

"Brick By Brick" was released in 1990, I believe, but what the hell, it's one of the greatest albums of the millenium anyway. |

Damn, I always have a hard time with lists. I can never narrow it down, and I always forget stuff (like "Red Roses For Me" by The Pogues and "Scary Monsters" by Bowie). A few more favorites:
Prince:
1999
Purple Rain
and how could I forget Elvis Costello:
Get Happy!
Trust
Imperial Bedroom
Blood And Chocolate
