Factory Girl from msn.com--

Dylan was not a hard sell when approached about the campaign, Razek said. The company had already decided to use the song when its corporate boss, Les Wexner, suggested inviting Dylan himself.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Famer quickly agreed, although no one's quite sure why.

"I can't speculate to his reasons, I never talked to him about why he decided to come to the party, but he did," Razek said. "He's iconic, a living legend."

Dylan's spokesman did not return messages for comment about the campaign.

T&A Bob's just following up his 1965 quip at a news conference when he responded to a reporter's question about whether he would ever do a commercial - he replied that he'd only do one for ladies' underwear....
April 7th, 2004 07:26 AM
Factory Girl Thanks, T&A for the very cool bit of info. Bob has his priorities straight...lol.
April 7th, 2004 09:04 AM
scope Oh, was that Bob? I must have been distracted by the other participants in the commercial Yum

GimmeExile Interesting! This is posted on Expecting Rain, a Dylan fansite:

This site had 13,216 visitors yesterday, the highest number ever, and more than on Sept 10, 2001, the day before Dylan released "Love and Theft" and the world changed. Presumably, the reason for the present interest in Mr Dylan is his participation in a lingerie commercial for Victoria's Secret.

Bob is about as cool as you can get

and the fact that he got paid millions to hang out on the set with a bunch of titty models is just further proof that he is A TRUE GENIUS

genius!

Factory Girl Bob is a man first, a lustful man.

And, I love the commercial, its very effective in a "beauty &the beast" way.

Lazy Bones A friend of mine sent this today...

"Panty Man"

Sung to Ballad of a Thin man

You walk into the room
with some panties in your hand
You see yourself in commercials
and say "who is that man?"
you try so hard but you can't understand
just why you must appear in panty commercials all
alone

You know something is happening in them
but you don't know who their on
do you, panty man

You see this long legged beautiful girl
shouting "get out"!
You realize your in the Women's dressing
room as you get kicked out
There oughta be a law against
you rocking out
You should be made to write
with earphones

Still there's happening in them
but you don't know who their on
do you, panty man

you have seen many colors and different
fibers and they've attacked your imagination
And what the heck, they're better than
blouses and not as good as lingerie in the evening

You've had good sex with your wife
with Gloria Steinem you've talked about
women's liberation and Joan Baez
You are not a homosexual priest
your progeny is well known

Still there's something happening in them
but you don't know who their on
do you, panty man
