LOL...that doesnt make it 'official', Tele, even though the start date is almost certainly correct.

I've lost count of how many separate 'official' announcements there have been on this page in the last 24 hours. Every one is just rehashing someone else's story that they've lifted off the newswire.

The Stones don't make an 'official' tour announcement via speculation on the newswires
April 12th, 2005 10:21 AM
corgi37 It was reported here too. Stated as their last tour. Will go for over a year, and no word (as fucking usual) if they will make it here.

If they do a stadium tour, and with fuel prices the way they are, they wont be coming here.

Oh cmon Gazza, don't be such a wet blanket. That's just a technicality. IT'S OFFICIAL!!!! Thanx Tele and thanks maxlugar.com for the official scoop.

Gazza oh ok, then

(but you could argue that in that case it already was official before yesterday!)
April 12th, 2005 09:13 PM
Soldatti The tour is official since a year ago or so.
April 13th, 2005 12:33 AM
Happy Motherfucker!! Yeah, this will be the last tour for sure, this and the last 10! I wouldn't bet on this being the last one. Unless they would actually announce a farewell tour, it's all just speculation just like all the other tours before. Although with their age, we are starting to narrow things down a bit. But, my bet is that if they all remain healthy, they will continue to tour well into their 70's, but on a much smaller scale. Possibly just doing maybe 20 shows a year or something, but as long as they are capable of playing, I doubt that they will ever make an offcial announcement.
April 13th, 2005 12:52 AM
corgi37 This will be the last Stones tour as we have come to know it.

And, this will be their last cd.

Hope its a good one.

Child of the Moon Well... okay, this certainly brightens my mood a bit.

TIA
April 13th, 2005 12:35 PM

you misunderstand the original story, I think.

The UK press simply arent going to mention parts of the tour outside the UK because its of no relevance to them or their readers (its a wonder they even mention the rest of Europe!). The US leg only gets mentioned simply because thats where it kicks off. They're not going to waste space by talking about the Stones playing South America or Japan because its not an important part of the story.

The US media are only rehashing the story which originated in the press in the UK.

It doesnt mean that the only 'legs' will be North America and Europe.

This tour will almost certainly go to every region that was covered on the last tour. Plus Latin America which was ONLY excluded due to economic problems in the region at that time. Some of the Aussies on here seem to doubt they'll play Down Under. I wouldnt rule it out, personally, although its not as lucrative a market for them as North America, Europe and Japan would be. Its a possibility that by playing South America they may by pass Australia but I dont think that'll happen. I think it's more likely that if anywhere gets by-passed it will be Asia (apart from Japan of course)
April 13th, 2005 08:19 PM
glencar LOL I wasn't too misunderstanding! I just wanted El Sud Americanos to panic & start booking flights for up here so we's could all hang together.

You wrong.
This time they'll play even in Paraguay, under the name The Rolling Bones.

glencar See above, Jair...

corgi37 If they dont tour Oz, i soley, 100% blame the Yanks.

For God's sake, you invaded (and we tagged along like Pavlov's dogs) Iraq, got rid of Saddam "Porn star moustache" Hussein, blew his kids heads apart, gave them democracy with no casualties (Well, Fox news acts like there was none) and look what we got!

Record petrol prices! Thanks a fucking lot! Whats the point of invading (sorry, "helping"), if you dont get, as a way of thank you, an oil field or two?

What is it with you Polyester wearers?

I can see the excuse from the Stones now: "Cant tour Oz, fuel prices too high".

You bastards!

I expect, i hope, in the spirit of bi-lateral friendship, the U.S. does the right thing and invade, say, Kuwait. Or, Libya.

Do so soon!!

Thank you, i love you. When i retire, i plan to live in Sth Carolina. I saw some beach there on cable. Some show hosted by Daisy Fuentes. Ummm, Mertle Beach?

P.S. If any Yanks are reading this, why? Get on that transport plane and go kick some Arab ass. I want cheaper fuel!!!

the people in charge of the Boston Red Sox and the local residents committee have pretty much confirmed it.

It's everything but official and by now, pretty much common knowledge
April 16th, 2005 06:27 PM
brown sugar the tour seems to be officiel

Someone on the forum of this site give a link to buy ticket for wembley

http://www.therollingstones-music.com
April 16th, 2005 08:18 PM
Gazza thanks for posting the link and welcome to Rocks Off

see this thread on the same subject :

http://www.novogate.com/board/968/210584-1.html

Wembley hasnt even been rebuilt yet and wont be open for another 13 months. Any 'dates' scheduled for shows there is nothing more than guesswork by a ticket broker looked to make money and are probably the wrong dates. There wont be tickets available for any European shows for at least another 7-8 months
