It might be a generational thing then, although I believe you and I are relatively close in age; I guess my musical taste just skews a little younger than my actual age.

Though I'm older than the demographic that Green Day is marketing itself towards, I kind of have to give them their props, at least for their "earlier" work [before they narrowed all their writing into two categories - political or mushy]. Dookie was when they were still "punk rock," and "When I come around" is the hardest hitting of the three singles.

Of the 66 artists, I thought people might have a problem with Katleen Edwards or Lucinda, but not Green Day.

pdog I've decided 66 isn't enough...
my iPod has 15,470 songs. It's been on shuffle and playing thorugh the stereo most of the day. 9 hours or so, hundreds of songs. Not one clunker, or skip... I did go out and we've been doing fun stuff most of the day...
Bottom line... my musical taste is perfect, for me at least... and iPods rule...
Cash's Give My Love to Rose is playing right now!!!

My iPod might get me into trouble. You see, I've downloaded Rev. Wright's rants. I needed some "get running" noise.

Ten Thousand Motels

ARTIST: Gail Collins / Felix Pappalardi
SONG: One Last Cold Kiss
This song was originally done by Mountain, but it has since been picked up by a few Celtic and Folk artists. I figured out the music from the original Mountain album FLOWERS OF EVIL.

Two island swans, mated for their life,
And his faithful heart would not consider any other wife.
For three years peaceful joy midst the rushes of the pond,
Proud and gentle was the loving of the last two island swans.

And their love was like a circle, no beginning and no end,
With his lady by his side a treasure and a best friend.
The pond was all so peaceful in the rising of the sun,
Young and free as the island breeze their life had just begun.

REPEAT INTRO

'Til a dread day in November when the searing cold did start,
Stalked the hunter with his bow and put an arrow through her heart.

Husband come to my side let your feathers warm my pain,
For I feel I will not spend another day with you again.

CHORUS:
And the cold winds blow,
He was brave but he's laid low.
By her body in the island mist,
I saw him give her one last cold kiss, one last cold kiss.

REPEAT INTRO

Of swans the people talk of only one in this day's tide,
Though they brought him twenty ladies he would take no other bride.
And they say he will not come from the spot where she did fall,
Once so proud he's beaten now and he will not speak at all.

And the cold winds blow,
He was brave but he's laid low.
By her body in the island mist,
I saw him give her one last cold kiss, one last cold kiss.

Ten Thousand Motels I'm sorry I couldn't find Mountain's version of "Last Cold Kiss" on youtube. This will have to do I guess.
