Yes, I always preferred Winter.

Me too, but always reminds me of Keith's Heroin Addiction ('Coming Down Again")

Throwaway KR on wah-wah guitar, Taylor on bass. But my fav instruments on this track are def the piano and sax. So simple yet so seductive.

Soldatti I like the first part of the song, the rest is a bit boring, too long.

Zack I thought the "someone else's pie was about Keith's girlfriend at the time Ushi Obermeier, who was just featured on this board a week or two ago. They had a fairly torrid affair, as much as a junkie is capable of one.

"You turned green" I always thought a reference to OD'ing. Keith said "I never turned green in someones' bathroom.

My only two criticisms of this great tune, I say it again, it's got one too many choruses, and Keith should have let Taylor rip a solo in place of the rather turgid sax duet.

yellerstang Sax solo is great!! And actually, Keith is playing the wah-pedal through a LESLIE.

From "my personal favorite" Rolling Stones album. I realise this album may not be there very best (but it is none the less a good album)and it certainly is not commercial (and why should it be) but this album has a special place for me.

....dark, murkey, secluded. Goats Head Soup is underrated. Sure it isn't a Some Girls commercial blast. It may not be a powerhouse Let it Bleed.

But it is truly unique and unlike any other Stones album. the songs are good and it has a differnt sound and vibe than anything eles The Stones have done. Really different.

and for some reason I always felt a personal bond to it more than others from the time of discovering it as a young teenager.

When I play it for my friends, who are not too familiar with this particular album because of it being pretty non-commercial and underrated they love it after a while and feel the same way I do towards it in a sense. To me, it is a dead of winter album, hence the song, "Winter" (great song by the way) and the whole vibe of this album lends to that. A Post Holidays dead of winter lonely frigid treat.
