Am i right in saying Isle of Wight 70 was the last one? What amazing scenes they had. The vid of that event is amazing. The Who did a set that was awesome. The Doors last performance! Thank fuck, fat, bearded Jimbo was useless. Was it also Jimi's last show? Kris Kristofferson saying "I do beleive they want to kill us", Joni Mitchell bitching. Some guy saying how great it was to give LSD to his 5 year old kid.
Yeah, they dont make 'em like that anymore. |

Yes, it was the third and last one. I didn't realize it was The Doors' last show. But it wasn't Jimi's last gig. A week later (6 Sept 1970), he played the Love and Peace Festival in Puttgarden, Germany. Two days before he died (16 Sept), he jammed with Eric Burdon and War at Ronnie Scott's Club. |

Didnt know that. "Spill the wine" is a great song. I recall reading that Pete Townsehend was appalled by Jim Morrison. Jim drank Roger's bottle of booze, which nearly earned him a broken nose from the little blonde guy. |

Hendrix played a small European tour after the festival.
That tour featured some of the most amazing and also some of the worst gigs he ever played!
It was cut short due to Billy Cox being 'ill'.

Jimbo wouldn't have fucked with Keith Moon's booze or it would have been "all over for the Unknown Soldier."

Dylan's first concert in 3 years (and what would be his only full length show between 1966 and 1974) was the main attraction for most, and almost certainly for the Stones. I think most of the Beatles turned up as well. |

It wasnt. They played some American shows after that. I think their last gig was around December 1970 |

That makes more sense, considering that Morrison didn't die for almost another year. |

Check this out: Rosalie Sorrels, listed on the 1970 Isle of Wight program just before The Who, is still around. There was an article about her in my local paper (The Oregonian) this morning. She lives in Idaho, plays folk music and still tours. She's playing in Portland soon. |
