What a great start, hopefully there'll be another nugget or surprise coming for the Chicago faithful.

Got my 24 fix this evening, and you? It sure helped me take my mind off the post MSG-Summit depression, at least for 60 mins.

January 23rd, 2006 11:20 PM
kath yup..it isn't on for another one here. so i can at least peek at the setliest.

good show.

it'll be tough for them to top themselves at the msg shows. seems like this would be almost anti-climatic. but seeing the stones is a spiritual experience no matter how many times you go or what they play...there is just something about a stones concert...
January 23rd, 2006 11:23 PM
Riffhard They seem to be mailing it in now. More surprises perhaps? Fingers crossed, but second halfs have been rather mundane so far.

Just checking to see how you all liked them?
Please let me know.

Kurtcobainkid87 Just got home from the show. What a bad ass show? It was excellent. Everything sounded really good and tight. Highlights for me were As Tears Go By and Gimmie Shelter. I've never heard any crowd sing Honky Tonk Woman so loud in my life. Although the crowd sucked for the most part, they were good from the B Stage on. Overall, great show, can't wait for Wednesday. Also Antigone Rising was really good. Sounded kind of like the Pretenders or Heart, not bad at all.

blondeeVIP thanks for the short but to the point review!!!!!!!!!!

January 24th, 2006 02:12 AM
Kurtcobainkid87 Well theres not much to really say about tonights show, pretty typical show really. Mick still is sick, or so I assume since he let the backup singers shine more than usual.

As Tears Go By literally brought a tear to my eye

All Down the Line was really awesome, I'm glad it's back in the set.

I didn't really like Let's Spend the Night Together as much as I do on record.

Gimmie Shelter was amazing with Lisa's solo.

the B-Stage was by far the highlight because of how into the show the crowd got. Honky Tonk Woman wins the Crowd Participation Award for the night.

By the time they played Satisifaction (which included the "Mustang Sally" tribute to Wilson Pickett), I had found quite a bit and was in need of some rest, which I'm going to get now. I'll have more on Wednesday night's show. The opener played a cover of "Fat Bottom Girls" really rocking considering it was an all girl band. Well that's all the noteables for me.

corgi37 What are you blondie, are spruiker for the support band?

Sounds like a good, solid show. Nice set. Wish they could fit in Out of control though.

Sir Stonesalot Here's a girl band that REALLY rocks...

Les Hell On Heels

Antigone Rising are too nice and pretty. They remind me of Heart or Pat Benetar. All nice and sanitized and clean. Not my bag o' tea. But they are certainly all good musicians.
