Ten Thousand Motels Who do you really like that everyone else thinks sux?
Or that conventional wisdom here on RO thinks sux. Kind of a "guilty pleasures" kind of thread but which of these "guilty pleasures" would you lay down in front of a freight train for just to prove your point?

I'll go with Shania Twain. And explain later.

Ten Thousand Motels BTW....I wonder what happened to her. She seems to have disappeared off the radar screen. She had that baby a couple of years ago and just disappeared.

I'm a big fan of nice titties. In another life I could've been a connoisseur. Unfortunately in this life i've fallen short.

CraigP I've been known to listen to alot of The Association.
Their vocals and instrumentals are mind-blowing, esp when stoned.
Their hits are really not the best that they had to offer and are much more corny than their other songs.

I can no longer stand the song "Cherish".

This one time, after a good fuck I put on one of their albums for my girlfriend (at the time) and she questioned my sexuality. So I only listen on headphones when I rarely do. But that's not why we broke up... I mean, I hope not.

Funny!! No idea who The Association are/is..

I used to think they said Suck a Duck in Beast of Burden too. Just seems to make sense.

slash1230 My guilty pleasure.

we all know who your guilty pleasure is.

either that or gay squirrel porn. the eagles move one in that direction.

funny you mention the association. my parents had "insight out" in the same record stack in the closet that contained let it be, abbey road and the rest of the beatle records i grew up on. i LOVED that album.

my guilty pleasure might be the monkees. well, more accurately, about 30% of their songs, which are actually quite good. the head soundtrack is their best work and has a ton of good songs on it if you like hippie dippie stuff.

slash1230 It takes balls to talk smack about the Eagles whilst simultaneously singing the praises of the Monkees.

that "suck a duck" line was actually how the lyrics were printed on the inside sleeves of the old "Rewind" album

if anyone has the old cassette copy still they can check it out

I always thought it was that too. What are they now claiming the line is?

corgi37 Wow, Baby Animals! What a blast from the past. They had that 1 massive album early 90's then totally vanished. Suzie married Nuno Bettencourt. They were the next big thing in Aussie music, but i guess she chose the easy life.

Then Extreme never had another hit. hahahaha.

I still dig the Temptations.

And am still partial to Iron Maiden.

Voodoo Scrounge I like suede and pulp.

Only because I was so fed up with hearing the music of Blur and Oasis during the britpop explosion.
