RSRTG Yes, I have seen this and have it on tape. She asks Mick if they are coming to Australia and he replies "we really hope to, Angela".( or something to that effect)

RSRTG Yep, it's about ABB. I enjoyed it. By any chance did you catch that 'Ronnie' special a few months back on the ABC? I taped that too and find myself watching it on a regular basis. As we know, Ronnie is very gifted and his mannerisms make me larf.....thats why I called my cat 'ronnie'.

corgi37 I got the news of the VL tour on tape as well. Every channels news service had a piece on it. I remember the buzz so well. After all, first tour in 22 bloody years! Best thing i remember, and still brings a tear to my eyes, was on the day of the 1st Melbourne show. MOnday. Work seemed to last forever. I played Stones tapes all day. Come 4pm, i bolted out the door and into my car. Richard Stubbs was on MMM. He was like a kid in a candy shop. While his brother is a Beatles boy, Stubbsy is a STones man through and through. He came on after the 4pm news (he was broadcasting from outside the MCG) and his voice was hysterical. He was yelling into the mic. His voice cracking. He said "And now, here's the Stones. BROWN SUGAR!! PLAY IT LOUD!".

I nearly crashed my car. I was very emotional. After waiting since 78 to see them, it was really, truly happening.

The day before the show, i walked around the MCG. 2 dudes were strutting around with a boom box playing Start me up and wearing 2 awesome Jagger masks. MMM had a competition to win Stones stuff, but the jerk DJ only gave give aways to chicks. It was such an exciting time. Much more so than Licks. It was a real event.

The Stones were also front page of the SUN for about 4 days in a row. They really took over the country.

Now, U2 owns our asses.
