Ah yes. Beer is a most wonderful lunchtime elixir, but on this cold, rainy, overcast day, nothing says Yaba daba doo like tequila for lunch!
Tonite I have to go rub elbows with with the Washington elite. I dislike such parties -- nobody will be drinking tequila there, I can assure you. I promise the topic of conversation will be Trent Lott's Athlete's Mouth and the resignation of Cardinal Law. I'm yawning already.
I'd rather YOTI up with y'all. We could talk about the House Party, sheep, gay Mossad agents, buckethead, chiba, the tour, naked snorkling, boots, Nolties, god the list is endless.
I sure hope y'all have some drunken posts when I get home...

jb, you poor misguided fellow!
First, not all lawyers support the dems. Take a look at the recent Federalist Society gathering here in DC and you'll see a few names you might just recognize. You dems really should at least try to accept the fact that maybe (just maybe) some of the views of the right are legitimate.
As for tort reform -- I haven't looked at the Bush proposal, but I can tell you that if it seeks to cap punis, it is probably a dumb idea. Not because I make a living on punis -- I don't -- in fact, we don't have punis in "IP" (not PI) law -- at least not in the traditional form. But I do believe that if corporations know ahead of time their worst case exposure, of course they will factor it into their cost of doing business and pass it on. This does not mean that I support the trial lawyers association or the dems, I just agree on this point. Tort reform will never stop the trial lawyers from burning the midnite oil looking for more scapegoats for the stupidity of their clients.
