Steve Van Zandt has set up his own record label, with a CBGB’s compilation one of six new releases.
The E Street Band guitarist’s new label Wicked Cool Records will feature tracks by Blondie, Patti Smith and Talking Heads on the compilation.
Van Zandt, who also stars in hit TV show The Sopranos, has also confirmed he will be making a new record with Bruce Springsteen sometime soon.
He tells the BBC, “I don’t know if it will be 2007, but we will certainly make a new record.”

what R&R needs is for some unsigned/independant band to BLOW UP - thru internet sites like myspace/youtube/etc and then tell all the labels that come clammoring for them to FUCK OFF
