Topic: 3rd stadium Amsterdam on sale next Saturday. Return to archive
12-07-02 06:53 AM
Angiegirl The Stones decided to add a 3rd stadium show in Holland because of extremely fast sales. All current 4 shows sold out in just 90 minutes today.

The show will be August 19 at the Amsterdam ArenA and sales start next Saturday Dec 14 at 10.00 am local Dutch time. The venue holds approx. 50,000 people, also seats and standing differences like most shows over here.

They did 5 shows at the ArenA in 1998. It's the venue where 6 out of the 14 songs on the No Security album were recorded. Acoustics vary...

FotiniD Will the tickets go out via the same site again?

Also, since it's the first time I'm buying tickets on line (better late than never...) I could use some guidance I'm having this problem with Dutch which I don't understand and then, if you want a standing ticket, can you move around anywhere in the arena-standing I mean, no seats. Or is it in a specific place? And how can you tell what your ticket gets you?

Sorry for troubling you with my stupid questions but I feel like totally lost!

Angiegirl Ok, I'll help you through the site next week, deal? Cause I'll be ordering online too. You'll have to have cookies enabled for your browser. I'll post the info through this site's PM or through a thread if nobody objects...
Don't know where you live, but calculate time difference (well, same as today).

So that's one part of your problem fixed.

Here's the deal with the seats vs. standing.

Standing: the whole floor in front of the stage (ie the field where normally the sports teams play on) is reserved for standing. Those tix are usually cheaper. There will be a 'golden circle' or separate part all over the length of the stage, the front part of the field. They let people in there and then close it with a fence. Just to diminish the pressure of all the people further back on the field. When you are inside that separate area, you first must get a wristband from security before you can leave and return in the area. You can move where ever you want throughout the stadion if you have the wristband.

But: of course if you want to be as close to the stage as possible, you have to queue early in the day to enter the venue as one of the first ones. Then RUN for your life to get up front, lol. Then you will be in the front area. If you choose to queue later on in the day, you won't make the special area and just stand in the mass somewhere in the middle/back of the field.
Anyway: with field tickets you can move around. But if you queued all day for a good spot and then go walk around, your spot may be gone when you come back. So if you make contact with the people near you, you of course will be able to get a beer (alcohol-free ones...no alcohol in the ArenA) or whatever and return to your spot because then people recognize you etc...

Seats: 2 rings with seats, in different price categories. Check seating plan. Best ones=most expensive (duh! ).
Well, they speak for themselves, don't they? You don't have to queue all day. Same deal as in US etc.

Depends on what you want. The queueing of course can be very tiring, but can also be very much fun, meeting all sorts of people, talking to everyone, everybody crazy etc. AND you get to the separate area, get a wristband (LOL) and see the Stones from first 'row' (no rows, just lots of people like a anthill). Inside that area there's no pressure because they only let in a limited amount of people, you can move around.

So, that was a very large post, but hope you can imagine the venue, lol. Email me or reply to this post if you have any further question!

Moonisup we should burn mojo
12-08-02 07:42 AM
F505 Arena has a very bad sound and even if it is 30 degrees they will shut the roof ot that birdcage. It's a disgrace that mojo organises concerts in that pressure cooker!
12-08-02 08:04 AM
Moonisup well, I don't understand it, the stones must know how bad it is for us out there!
let they decide everything for them??????
12-08-02 09:25 AM
F505 I don't understand it either. Even put a complaint the last time the Stones played in the Arena because of the very, very bad sound. Mojo didn't took me serieus: said the sound was excellent and that I was nagging. They're bunch of profiteers and don't give a damn about the fans.

Moonisup F505

we don't agree always

but indeed you are right!

man they could have sold out the kuip 4 times yesterday!

but I think it's about status also

2 kuip
2 arena

you what I mean
and mojo pffffffffffffff real bad guys
12-08-02 11:30 AM
F505 yes you're probably right moon. It's Amsterdam against Rotterdam. But anyhow: I don't go to the stadium concerts so it really doesn't matter for me. But it is sad for the fans who will go to the Arena
12-08-02 11:32 AM
Moonisup I may go to have some fun

I am a happy guy
2 arena shows (bercy and ahoy)
2 clubs
and 1 stadium and desparate for kuip 11-08

Scot Rocks Oh yeah forgot to ask, does anyone know why the Stones have made the UK stadium shows all seated? This really sucks, Ok let some people have the choice, if they wanna sit, however it is so much better and cheaper to stand at a Stones concert, I can't imagine myself doing anything else.

Cheers

Angiegirl Indeed that sucks. I thought it was great at Wembley (Stadium), when you could choose for yourself to stand on the floor or take a seat at the stands. At least it was in 95. Dunno in 99, I was front row, hehehe!!

Maybe they take out the seats on the floor?? Or are there assigned seats on the floor too? Then I feel for you. Told ya you had to come to the mainland!!!
