To me Ronnie Wood has not made one weak solo album. He has done over 10 projects counting the Live albums, Gunslinger, Mahoney's Stand etc.
Does anyone think he will do another one? The Rod thing is never going to happen. |

I wish he would release a live recording of his one-off show in London in March 2005. It was fantastic. |

His last studio album sold nothing, the best of even less (about 2,000 copies in U.S)
I don't think he will record solo again, the money is not there, he could play a club gig and get more money.
Also he's painting now. |

i don't know for sure, but i don't think that ronnie puts out albums for commercial gain. His last album, while excellent was certainly not built to chart well.

Yep, but all his albums up to Slide On This had a minimal of comercial action:
I've Got My Own Album To Do (UK #27)
Now Look (US #118)
Gimme Some Neck (US #45)
1234 (US #164)
Live At The Ritz (Japan #40, 11,000+ copies sold)
Slide On This (57,000 copies sold in U.S, Japan #54 - 21,000 copies sold)
Slide On Live (Japan #89, 4,000+ copies sold)
Not For Begginers did sold less than 1,000 copies in U.S and didn't chart in any chart of the world. Why would he record an album if it sells less than nothing? |

I love some of his solo stuff-I've Got My Own Album... I like some of his solo stuff-Slide On This....,but Not For Beginners was shite no matter how ya look at it.
Having said that. Yes he will definatly put out another solo album.

i've never been to into Ronnies solo stuff, i like Micks Keiths and Charllies but Ronnies is a bit hot and cold. STLL I'd always give him another chance, plus, you never know maybe 1 or 2 songs with Rod! |

those record sales numbers Soldatti posted are really sad
with all the millions of Stones freaks around the world and he can only muster 1,000 sales of an album is just dreadful
theres completely unknown bands that sell more than that on myspace alone |

Ron is very relaxed about soloalbums: guess he has no hurry, guess he doesn't get too depressed for depressing low sales, he just accumulates ideas, shared or individual and sometimes spits out a great album. I've Got My Own Album To Do Now Look Gimme Some Neck 1234
are great great cd in my opinion. the onmes I played thousand times. not for beginners is quite boring, but I look forward to the next anyway, through there are 2 sad sides of that. 1) geez he sells so few. 2) they should let him write or co-write a stone song here and there.

Love Ronnie since the Faces 74/74 Tour...A new Solo?...Only if the Stones wait more than 9-12 months to re-group...he might be the only one with enough original thoughts to pull it off... |

His slide guitar medley on this disc is really worth the price of admission alone. How does it go again? Plynth > Gasoline Alley > Amazing Grace > Prodigal Son? FanTASTIC. |

You're right, although I'm not too sure about "millions of Stones freaks"..the people going to their shows dont seem to be buying their records. a strange phenomenon mostly of the band's own making.
I think Not for Beginners came out the same week (or thereabouts) as Goddess In The Doorway..and the Jagger album struggled for sales even though it was on a major label (which Ronnie's wasn't, so the promotion it got was almost non existent). He only did a couple of shows in Dublin and London to promote it too, which didnt help.
Agree with oldkr and no night together. He just makes records to please himself.
Not For Beginners was unquestionably the weakest of his solo albums, though.

I've got my own album to do is a great album. How many times I played that. I used these unknown songs for tv clips and many times people wrote to ask details. Great rock and roll, underrated, various (not a song tat reminds another). |
