i was going to add my bit to the 107 replies re: the bali bombing, but i see it was closed. nevermind, i just want to say a few quick things. 4 years ago to the day of the bombing, i was in the sari club, drinking bintang, laughing away, and singing many out of tune versions of khe sanh (the unofficial aussie national anthem). I just want to thank everyone for the nice words and thoughts. The papers here are full of nice words from around the world, in particular, the u.s. It great to know, amid such bastardry, their are decent people in the world. No sneaky, gutless, murdering mongrol is going to change the way we aussies are. Same for my yank mates since sept 11 last year, i assume. If anything, things like this bring us together and make us stonger. So, all take care, be cool to each other, and i hope we all get front row seats to see the Stones. |
