Topic: Jimi Hendrix's Military Record Return to archive
September 19th, 2005 03:09 PM
jcdesq A previous post stated that Jimi Hendrix was discharged from the Military due to "injury." It does not seem to be that simple...

Hendrix, and four other soldiers were assigned to wash a ceiling. When Hendrix, who occasionally napped during the cleaning assignment, disappeared at one point, Mattox went looking for him. He quickly found Hendrix in the latrine, where he was "sitting in the last commode. I thought he was sitting there sleeping so I stood on the stool in the commode next to his and...there sat Hendrix masturbating himself."

I did not make that up. For his complete military record, please see:

VoodooChileInWOnderl Please consider that we have a thread about Jimi just some threads below/above. It's a good way to post this kind of messages in the same thread.

With current traffic some worth-keeping threads are gone in a couple of days to the archives while we have similar or even same topic threads open

time is on my side This same information was posted here a few weeks or months ago (I can't recall exactly how long ago because TIME seems to go by so quickly- is it all a state of mind???).

Yes, I agree, things with Hendrix are never quite that simple. It appears he had a higher calling than the military in more ways than one.

The post you're quoting from about the injury was how the article was written at the TIME of his death on September 18, 1970 with misinformation about the reason for his military discharge. How shocking that a news organization can give out misinformation. Simply unheard of!!!

Saint Sway I think that all Hendrix threads - and especially that ludacris section called "Jimi Hendrix Was A Rolling Stone" - SHOULD BE REMOVED from this site. Hendrix was not and will never be a Rolling Stone.

Hendrix took his own life by choking down some pain killers and washing it back with a bottle of booze after watching Ronnie Wood shred on the guitar and crystal clear realization that no matter what he did, he would never ever be as talented a guitar legend as the great Ronnie Wood.

you can read all about that and many more stories about Jimi's insecurities with Ronnie's superior skills in the biography "Scuze Me While I Kiss The Sky"

Yes about him pretending to be homosexual and get fired from the army, the fact is that he attended http://www.howemilitary.com but was fired because he was found to be straight

His works with Santa Barbera Machine Head?

Woody jammed with Jimi at least three times with the Jeff Beck Group playing bass, the one who was impressed was Woody about Jimi and not viceversa in the book ""Scuze Me While I Kiss This Guy" written by Jimi as he as well as Jim Morrison are alive, Jimi tells that he asked Jeff to give Woody a break and he played a bass and guitar at the same time, both upside down and with the help of his tongue, not the teeth
