Ten Thousand Motels Bob Dylan Becomes Oldest Living Person To Top US Chart
With 'Modern Times'...

Bob Dylan has stormed to the top of the American charts for the first time in three decades with his latest offering ‘Modern Times.’

The legendary songsmith sold 192,000 copies in its first week with his acclaimed long-player.

More impressively, he’s become the oldest living person to go straight to the top of the US album chart in its entire history.

Steve Barnett of Dylan’s label Columbia, said: "We couldn't be more thrilled that fans have responded to it so enthusiastically by putting Bob at number one, which is where he belongs."

The album has now gone to number one in eight countries. It missed out on the top spot last week to Kasabian and Snow Patrol charting at three.

‘Modern Times’ is Dylan’s first American number one since 1976’s ‘Desire’ which topped the charts for five weeks.

jb A fake #1 based strictly on timing of the release..Only 192k copies and watch it drop next week. Even ABB sold 128k units it's first week!!! The Stones should of/could of had a #1 with 40 Licks, but fucked up by releasing it a week too early, and lost out to Elvis' #1's, despite selling 350K units!! Dylan gets no credit for this in my book.

He's 65 and has a busier work schedule than most men at 35.

corgi37 So, with a population around 300mil, a cd that sells so crappily gets to #1?

Without doubt, further proof the American empire is crumbling.

see title of the thread

In fairness, its easier to be more appreciated when you're dead than when you're old.
