Paris Hilton arrested in DUI investigation

LOS ANGELES — Paris Hilton was arrested early Thursday for investigation of driving under the influence after she was spotted "driving erratically," police said.
"The officers observed that Hilton exhibited the symptoms of intoxication. A field sobriety test was conducted at the scene, and the officers determined she was driving under the influence," police said.
Hilton was released on her own recognizance. Elliot Mintz, her spokesman, said she had the minimum blood-alcohol level to warrant an arrest. The legal limit in California is 0.08.
Hilton was driving her Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren from a charity event where she had one margarita, Mintz said. The DUI was "probably the result of an empty stomach and working all day and being fatigued," he said.
Bianca Jagger fined
NEW YORK — Bianca Jagger, former wife of Mick, has been ordered to pay a $500 fine for failing to pay rent on a Park Avenue apartment that she says is infested with toxic mold and is unlivable.
State Supreme Court Justice Leland DeGrasse imposed the fine after citing Jagger for contempt of court. He said she was "willfully disobeying the explicit directives of two prior court orders requiring Jagger to pay rent" while her case was pending.
Jagger has sued Katz Park Ave. Corp. for $20 million, saying leaks and mold made the apartment uninhabitable. She has not paid the monthly rent of $4,614 since February, the judge found.
DeGrasse ordered Jagger to continue to pay the rent to the court on the first day of each month until her case is resolved.

IS this the Paris Hilton sex tape sequel so many have been waiting for?
Ever since Paris was filmed in a steamy canoodle with a certain Rick Solomon, film buffs have been excitedly awaiting another straight-to-internet performance.
And now we read “PARIS IN CUFFS” on the Mirror’s front page. We dim the lights, strategically position our popcorn and take our seats for the main event. We are not prudes - a little light bondage never hurt anyone, not really.
But this is no Paris Hilton sex tape. It’s just Paris being led away in real handcuffs by a member of the Los Angeles Police Department.
Doubtless we will get to read more about Paris’s arrest on LAPD official blogs, but for now the news is the Mirror’s for the moulding.
And reading on we learn that Paris was spotted by police driving erratically in her £300,000 Mercedes. The paper says at least five policemen blocked off her car. Paris was “hauled” out and breathalysed. She was found to be possession of an alcohol level of 0.8 per cent – just over the limit.
The Mirror says was then charged, fingerprinted and had her mugshot taken for posterity (think Nick Nolte in higher heels).
“YOU GONNA COME QUIETLY, Ms HILTON?” asks the Sun’s headline, snickering into its hankie, showing that even in times of high drama it is not above extending the sticky hand of male adolescence.
Paris, of course, did go quietly. She’s did not see Jews, like Mel Gibson, allegedly, or flip her car over, like Haley Joel Osment.
And having been met at the Hollywood police station by her sister Nicky Hilton, her boyfriend Kevin Connolly and her publicist Elliot Mintz, Paris was soon allowed to go. (Contrary to the Mirror’s report, Reuters says Paris was not charged.)
And now breathing the sweet, smoggy air of LA freedom, Paris speaks.
“My SLR is pretty fast,” says Paris in the Sun, referring to her car in that LA way of speaking in labels, “so maybe I was speeding a little bit and got pulled over.”
Paris then employs the Margarita Defence. “I had one margarita [and] was starving because I had not eaten all day. Maybe I was speeding a little bit and I got pulled over. I was just really hungry and I wanted to have an In-N-Out Burger."
And once again we are back with the Paris of old...

PARIS HILTON's grandmother was once married to a mafia mobster, according to an upcoming new book. Author JERRY OPPENHEIMER claims the celebrity socialite's maternal grandmother KATHY RICHARDS - nicknamed 'Big Kathy' - was married to a notorious gangland figure when her daughter KATHY fell for Paris' dad RICK HILTON, in new expose HOUSE OF HILTON. Fearing her husband's line of business would scupper the couple's wedding, Richards quickly divorced her spouse - who was just one of her four husbands. According to the New York Daily News, Oppenheimer writes, "Big Kathy used to boast to friends that, 'If you ever need someone taken care of,' her husband had the muscle to handle it." The newspaper reports the Hilton family is dreading the book's release, and spokespeople for the hotel heirs are unavailable for comment on the issue. Paris was very close to her grandmother and credits her with her success: "We were, like, best friends. "She would say, 'You're my MARILYN MONROE. You're my GRACE KELLY. You're going to be the most famous woman in the world.' I feel like she made all this happen." Richards died in 2002 aged 63.
